If it was the lowest cure rate, you almost certainly have genotype 1. And I can’t say you’ll be cured - in fact, for HCV, we say “Sustained virological response”, which means that we can’t detect the virus after 6 months by RT-PCR. But in most cases, it’s a real cure. And it’s getting better and better with time. Please ask your doctor about the new protease inhibitors.
(For everyone’s information - I live and work in San Francisco... and I’m about as liberal as that implies. But I think that we’re all Americans, first.)
