Reminds me of a remark I heard on TV several decades ago after someone sang My Old Kentucky Home (with the famous line about the gay [in the old sense] darkies)... “ain’t nobody gay in Kentucky.” Obviously this was well before the PC era.

Well, if it was politically acceptable to tell them to skip the rear-porking, it would be like that I guess. But nobody wants to tell them that or they will have every homo banshee wailing at them.

And, to get serious... this is a spiritual problem. It’s a form of fetish or idolatry, the unholy use of the creation to get the power of evil spirits. Now there are brave souls who had been doing that but then who turn from their sins, investing themselves in the Lord instead, and the Lord will generously pour out His spirit upon and into them if they persist. They can quite kick this habit, at the same time filling up within themselves from the Lord’s spirit the hunger that they were trying to fill through their old sinful practice, but never could fill, resulting in an insatiable and unfocussed lust.

Back when the country was better churched, it was socially acceptable to talk about such things. Now it will get a person hooted at. This is the work of the devil for ya...

I doubt they needed encouragement, they simply gave them the vaccine and they carried on and got infected.

These people are AIDS denialists and very dangerous. People were dying of AIDS long before the so called toxic drugs to treat them came along.

P.S. Google AIDS denialists who have died and you’ll see what I mean. There were many HIV+ people who claimed the drugs were making them sick-Yes, they do have some nasty side effects, but all those who refused treatment died, and some refused treatment for their children, who also died.

It's hard to protect people if their priorities do not include protection.

Dr. Robert Cabaj, director of behavior-health services in San Francisco's Health Department, (estimates) that at "least 25 percent of all newly infected gay men" got that way either by deliberately seeking out HIV-positive partners or "actively seeking HIV" infection. Read more

...so in other words, once they gave the subjects HIV, they couldn’t cure them?

Wasn't necessary. They just monitored a group of homos who were free of the disease, giving some of them the "real" vaccine and the other a placebo. The DID give them condoms free of charge as well.

Then they just sat back and watched homos do what homos do.

Everyone stop watching AIDS attack the obvious “victims.” Now, we have a serious form of Meningitis breaking out in the geh “community” that even a condom won’t stop.

My friend was living in the south.

How did your friend contract it?

It is bad but not unexpected news that the HVTN 505 vaccine failed.

Keep trying.

The vaccine IS UNNECESSARY! This is THE most preventable disease, probably in history. And yet irresponsible homo-activists INSIST that the public foot the millions-of-dollars bill for more and more research on what can be contained and eradicated by simple, responsible behavior. And no, I'm not talking about condoms.

Cancer deaths caused by smoking are also easy to prevent. Do I think that my friends who smoked and died of lung cancer were idiots for smoking? I suppose I do, but they weren't idiots in most ways. They were a lot more than that. I wish there had been a treatment available to cure their disease.

I have known gay males who died of AIDS. Again, they behaved like idiots, but they were more than just idiots, and I wish there had been an effective, easily obtained treatment available.

I think it is worth examining the level of funding for AIDS research. AIDS is certainly the most politically correct disease, and I suspect that AIDS research gets more than its "fair share" of research dollars. Still, I want for AIDS to be defeated along with lung cancer.

It seems to be harder to kick a “gayness” habit than to kick smoking. It’s spiritual and it involves the feeding of a spiritual hunger in the wrong way.

The NIH spends about 3% as much on HCV as HIV (http://report.nih.gov/categorical_spending.aspx). I kind of agree with this, even though I work on HCV (in a primarily HIV-based lab), given the relative worldwide threat of both of them.

But if you, or anyone you know, is infected with HCV - I suggest you look into clinical trials now, while they’re still free. It’s kind of a magical time - we’re getting up near 90% cure rates with the new protease inhibitors, which is fantastic given that they’re genotype 1 strains. I mean, it’s bad for me - I’ll have to find something else to work on soon... But I’ll take it. We’re always happy to be put out of a job.

That’s not entirely true. My brother was in the Peace Corps in Namibia, and I have many friends that have gone to Malawi and Uganda. There are too, too many families that have been decimated because the husband has sex with prostitute(s) and infects his wife, leaving their children orphans. Whatever you think of the “man” (and I use the quotes deliberately), the children are blameless. The status of women in Sub-Saharan Africa is not the same as it is here. And the children suffer.

A vaccine would at least leave the mother alive, to take care of her children.

Yes. You have to wonder why so many gays wanted to become priests. The motivation was something beyond simple lust for adolescent boys.

not holding my breath for more funding OR a cure...

AIDS is a completely preventable disease but the filthy disease ridden queers get all the money and always will

What is your genotype? Probably 1a or 1b, in America. I know how much the Ifn/Rbv treatment sucks. Really, ask your doctor about telaprevir/boceprevir combo therapy. Or look into the new trials with the NS5A inhibitors (esp BMS-790052).

don't remember now but it was the one with the lowest cure rate...

are those cures or simply something to slow the virus down?

my last viral load count was over 3,000,000 six years ago and now i have micro nodular cirrhosis
