The Hawaii Democratic Party has a long history of primaries split along racial lines, with contests often coming down to an Asian-American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander candidate and a white one, referred to as haole in Hawaiian. And if it wasnt Hanabusa challenging Schatz, it was likely to be another Asian-American Democrat, because Asian candidates often win in a state that is just 26 percent white.
Over the last 20 years, there have been 10 major Democratic races that pitted a white candidate against an Asian-American one, including four out of six Honolulu mayors races and three out of six governors races.

It was done to ensure two more Democrat in perpetuity senate seats. It's probably too late to give it to Japan.

Future revisionists will no doubt photoshop every face on that poster to resemble Tiger Woods. Heck, they already tried to make the three white FDNY firemen in that iconic photo of the flag-raising at Ground Zero into three different races when the city commissioned a statue.
That was always his favorite sale.

Don't worry. Some liberal Democrat will complain and then sue NASA about a lack of diversity in pictures of the astronauts who went to the Moon. NASA will then forced change one of the pictures to a designated "minority" or an illegal alien. Maybe they'll even be forced to put Michael Jackson's photo with the group.
