The MC-12W was one of ours.
The crew of Independence 08, were: Capt Brandon
Cyr, Capt Reid Nishizuka, SSgt Dan Fannin, SSgt Rick Dickson.

While they were flying a combat mission, there was no sign of hostile fire.

I visited the flight deck of the very aircraft last week and talked with the flight engineer. Very sad ending.

“No evidence of hostile fire” might mean there was no enemy action involved; or it can be spin to keep the casualty figures low; imho it doesn’t always mean that some of these crashes
were not actually caused by enemy action, just that they may not be officially listed as such.

Looks like this 744 crash had a lot of witnesses. A load shift is really an inexcusable error or failure.

I’m at Bagram. Saw the burning wreckage from pretty close up a few minutes after the crash. A lot of people saw it go down. Said it had just taken off when it pitched straight up and then fell out of the sky. Word here is that its cargo load shifted to the rear just after takeoff, suddenly jacking the nose way up. Then it stalled and went down. There was no insurgent activity whatsoever here yesterday. The Taliban’s claims are pure bs. This was an accident.
