Once again proving that racism crosses party lines, Gloria Platko, a Democratic Township Clerk in Buena Vista, Michigan, is refusing to step down from her position after being busted calling Township Supervisor Dwayne Parker an “an arrogant (racial slur),” reports Mediate.com.
Interim Township Manager Dexter Mitchell taped a phone conversation and, though Platko’s words are clear, the 63-year-old Dixiecrat claims that it was a “slip of the tongue.”

Speaking to NBC 25 reporter Walter Smith-Randolp, Platko pulled out the go to bigot card when denying that she’s racist:
I can’t be racist, I have black friends.
“I’m sorry to my five other board members, and I’m entirely sorry to this entire community,” said Platko. “I’ve eaten Thanksgiving dinner with black friends at their house. So I’m far from prejudiced. You need to go interview some of the black people who have supported me for the last four or five years.”
The Saginaw chapter of NAACP says that they will attend the next Township meeting and ask that Platko be removed from her position. Terry Pruitt, the organization’s first vice president, says that with the clerk being a woman of advanced years, she should know better:
“Someone who is as old as Ms. Platko is, has seen some of the civil rights issues and was part of the civil rights movement in this country, should understand that those sort of statements are unacceptable,” said Pruitt.
If it wasn’t for double standards they wouldn’t have any standards.
So what else is new. Democrats are the biggest racists in this country.

I wasn’t aware Michigan was in Dixie, and the “Dixiecrat Party” existed as a euphemism in 1948 for the States Rights Faction of the Democrats when they ran their own Presidential candidate (Strom Thurmond)... which would be 2 years before this lady was born.

The comments below the article are mind blowing if not manufactured. Something to the effect, “...At least republicans openly admit that they hate black people while democrats also hate them but they hide it....”

Michigan was not racist but the democrats always were, North and South. It’s republicans who never used racism or racial policies. Democrats were slave owners in the South, undermined the Civil War from the North, and kow towed to their racist dems in the South for generations. Republicans never supported racist policies in America.
What’s this “racism crosses party lines” BS? Only Democrats are racist; Republicans fought slavery and Jim Crow.

Well, I guess the first question would be to ask if the comment, taken in its vernacular, was accurate?
While doing some genealogy research the other day I found an editorial written by the Traverse City mayor in the mid 1850s about why he was becoming a Republican.
Basically he claimed the democrats needed slavery for their own survival and the Whigs were frozen in place like frightened rabbits.
But she’s only 63. Sorry, not old enough.

Dixiecrat? Probably not. With a name like Platko in a place like Buena Vista Township aka Saginaw's East Side, she's probably an old time union democrat. Union activist democrats are some of the most racist folks you'll meet.
I see this was written "by NewsOne Staff." Still, someone in NewsOne Management knows the name of the idiot who wrote this, and therefore knows who should be fired ASAP.
