Dozens of air shows that draw tens of thousands of people and generate millions of dollars for local economies have been cancelled this year after the military grounded its jet and demonstration teams because of automatic federal budget cuts.
For years, the biggest draws at air shows have been the military's two elite jet teams, the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force's Thunderbirds, and their intricate stunts. The armed services also have provided F-16, F-18 and F-22 fighter jets and the U.S. Army Parachute Team, known as the Golden Knights. All the teams were grounded as of April 1 to save money, and the military also dramatically curtailed its help with ground displays of various aircraft.

As Obama goes on vacations, not grounding Air Farce One, and illegal aliens getting food stamps is known, this “hurt them until they vote for my budget” thing is backfiring.
Using the military as a half-assed economic assistant is a lousy use of taxpayer money.
Spend the military budget on national security. Cut the fluff.
If memory serves me correctly, currently in the world there are 42 countries that have aerial demonstration teams. South Korea, Greece, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina to name but a few. There is only 1 nation that has grounded it’s demo teams because it can’t afford them... Obama’s America.
The airshow in Myrtle Beach cancelled this summer. When the Thunderbirds cancelled the sponsors cancelled. Huge economic impact..

This is the type of thing liberals wanted from day one.
They would prefer to see no military, and all the money spent on it being used for, as Ann Coulter puts it, “their comically useless entitlement programs”.
This is just one more way for them to impact the military via reducing their visibilty and reducing their enlistments.
