Afghanistan: UK's best armoured vehicle overcome by Taliban for first time
The Telegraph ^ | 01 May 2013

The killing of three British soldiers in an explosion in Afghanistan is the first time the Taliban has overcome Britain’s best-protected armoured vehicle, defence chiefs admitted today. The soldiers were killed while travelling in a Mastiff armoured patrol vehicle, once described by Prime Minister David Cameron as offering "the best-known protection" against bombs, after it was struck by an improvised explosive device in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province. It is the first time British soldiers have been killed while travelling in a Mastiff armoured vehicle, the Ministry of Defence said today. The £1m Mastiff is widely used by the British Army in Afghanistan, with around 180 in service. It is favoured by troops because it is regarded as being highly resistant to mines and roadside bombs.

It’s a ridiculous country, which is stretching the use of the word a little. ‘Land’ might be a better description.

Of course such an IED will be censored lest some lone operators activist starts making their own to take out DHS MRAPS.

Looking at pics of the vehicle, it seems less survivable to a Deep-Buried IED than our MRAPs.

I am always amused by these libtards who knee jerk claim it is bitter clingers responsible for these half baked attempts at violence the moron muslims commit. What is more amusing is they believe they can disarm us. Should they ever tee up CW II they will get a chance to see just what someone who knows what the hell they are doing can come up with.

I recall a techno thriller novel about a group who sold several hundred thousand prayer rugs for the Mecca pilgrimage, and they were all laced with a toxin that would within a short time kill those in contact.

what is disgusting is the free card of immunity Moslems are getting all over the nation.

Especially at the highest elected positions.

I do believe we should stand to our ground and frankly just say NO, Islam cannot be allowed in America no longer.
they cannot exist within our laws, they by their own admission will lie under oath.

Might involve new laws, and in the meantime the Feds will fight tooth and nail protecting its own Islamic superiors.

You cannot build a vehicle strong enough to defeat all IED’s. Enough explosive burying in the road or placed in a culvert detonated at the right time will send an M1 Tank into a double back flip, so it can also destroy any other vehicle out there. The Taliban knows how much explosive that takes, they just have a hard time assembling, transporting, and emplacing that much explosive. We’ve made it hard, but it’s not impossible.

Fight to win, or get out. You gather up all the locals, and make them responsible for the security of the Soldiers. The next attack on Soldiers, you go in with bulldozers and knock down their houses, kill their livestock and sew their fields with soul sterilants. Why, yes I am a mean son-of-a-bitch when it comes to protecting American Soldiers. If you’re not willing to fight to win, then lose, and suffer the consequences of defeat. Too many Americans are sitting around trying to figure out how to be make-believe pig farmers while good young people are dying in a war that we’re not even trying to win.
