Over the past few months, 135 Republican lawmakers, or "a majority of the majority," have said a select committee is needed to further investigate the 9/11 attacks on Benghazi, Libya.
Now, that committee has the support of a very vocal former lawmaker, too. Tea partier Allen West, who represented Florida in Congress before he narrowly lost his seat to a Democratic challenger last November, sent a letter Thursday night to Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., who introduced legislation for a select committee. In the letter, shared with Whispers, West writes:
As a former Member of Congress who also served in uniform, I know how important it is that we learn the truth about why military support was never sent to the Americans under fire at the U.S. annex in Benghazi last September.... We owe it to the families of the four victims and the survivors -- some of whom sustained serious injuries and were still at Walter Reed hospital months after the attack -- to fully investigate this terrorist attack and the Obama Administration's questionable response in the days and weeks that followed.
House committees released an "interim progress report" on Benghazi last Wednesday, but a number of Republican lawmakers said the report raised more questions than gave answers – and some even alleged a government cover-up.
That theory was further fueled by a report given to Fox News this week by Victoria Toensing, a high-powered GOP lawyer representing a State Department employee who was in Benghazi. Toensing said her client was threatened by the Obama administration not to speak out.
On May 8, the House is scheduled to hold a hearing to "examine evidence that Obama Administration officials have attempted to suppress information about errors and reckless misjudgments." Eyewitnesses to the Benghazi attack are expected to testify.
In his letter, West urges the Republicans who have not yet expressed support for a House committee to get on board before the hearing because "it's time... to ensure the families of the victims and the American people get the answers they deserve."
The only thing I want to hear from Alan West is an explanation as to why he voted to expand the billions in reparation fraud pigford program, this is an impeachable issue by itself.

The Honorable Frank Wolf 233 Cannon Building Washington, DC 20515
Dear Congressman Wolf,
I write to share my support for H. Res. 36, which would create a House Select Committee on the Terrorist Attack in Benghazi. With 135 Republican cosponsors, the bill now has a majority of the majority and its time for House leadership to advance it. The threshold for the Select Committee has been crossed, and its time for a vote.
As a former Member of Congress who also served in uniform, I know how important it is that we learn the truth about why military support was never sent to the Americans under fire at the U.S. annex in Benghazi last September. Over the last month, more than 700 former Special Operations members signed letters endorsing the Select Committee. We owe it to the families of the four victims and the survivors — some of whom sustained serious injuries and were still at Walter Reed hospital months after the attack — to fully investigate this terrorist attack and the Obama Administrations questionable response in the days and weeks that followed.
Although the interim progress report released by the House committees last week was a positive step, it did not answer many of the questions that should have been answered after 8 months of investigation. In fact, the report raised even more questions that merit further investigation. As an Army officer, I learned the integral principles of war, unity of effort and unity of command. Having a singular select committee on the Benghazi issue requires adherence to those two fundamentals.
I urge the remaining Republicans who have not yet cosponsored to sign on to H. Res 36 when the House returns next week. After 8 months, its time for a Select Committee to ensure the families of the victims and the American people get the answers they deserve.
Steadfast and Loyal,
Allen B. West

YUP! Them thar “select committees” do a bang-up job of gettin’ the truth out.
I’m sure y’all remember the wonderful job the 9/11 c0mmission did.
I’ll bet a Benghazi commission will be just as good.

Allen West explains Pigford vote the right scoop
Allen West says that he didnt do enough due diligence on the Pigford amendment and says he may have to take this one in the shorts:
I could not agree more with your assessment.
You don’t know how many times that I called my Congresspuke Pete Olson to tell him NOT to vote to keep Boehner as House Weeper. Olson is cut from the same cloth as Boehner.
A total waste of dna.
“Weeper of the House, John Boehner is already on record as opposing ANY Select Committee on Benghazi.”
There should be a Select Committee investigating Boehner’s incompetence!
Yep, some how I got on Olson’s mailing list for Congress luncheons. He’s hosted Boehner fundraising luncheons numerous times. No thanks.
MM, please put me on the ping list. Thank you!
