"While we have not locked in the timing, I expect that the House will vote on full repeal of ObamaCare in the near future," he told members.
Many Republicans have been eager to vote against the 2010 healthcare law, like they did last year. But so far, GOP leaders have refrained from calling up a repeal bill, and instead have tried a tweak that failed to win enough GOP votes in April.
Last month, Republicans proposed a bill that would have eliminated what the GOP says is a "slush fund" within the law, and use that money to fund an insurance program for people with pre-existing conditions. But Republicans ended up pulling the bill after it became clear that many conservatives were on the fence about propping up the insurance plan.
Cantor's memo said he expects a "full legislative agenda" in May, which he said would also include a GOP bill to keep federally subsidized student loan rates at 3.4 percent. Those rates are threatening to rise to 6.8 percent this summer Congress fixed this problem last year, but only for one year.
"In light of this, Chairman Kline and the Education and Workforce Committee will produce a bill to replace the legislatively fixed interest rate with an interest rate tied to market rates for federal borrowing," Cantor wrote. "In the near-term this is expected to provide an interest rate lower than the 6.8% fixed in law and over the long-term provide savings for taxpayers.
"This bill takes congress and politics out of setting interest rates and provides a long-term fix to the interest rate cliffs initiated in 2007."

If they do, great.
However until they do, it will be I will believe it when I see it.
DEFUND Obamacare.
Don’t promise it. Do it. I’m no longer impressed by talk.
See my post immediately after yours. There’ve been several votes “repealing” Obamacare. Problem is - other than it dies there and couldn’t pass the Senate even if offered there -is that in every continuing resolution the Republicans have kept on FUNDING Obamacare.
The reason they don’t DEFUND it, is that they know it would set up a showdown with Reid and Obama and that the gubmint would shut down.
That thought scares them witless because they would be blamed for the shutdown.
It'll never see the light of day in the senate, let alone get a presidential signature.
See post #6.
Boner, Canter, and Mc Carthy. Larry, Curly and Moe! Somewhere there are three villages that are missing their idiots!
Keep doing it. If the libtards keep pushing for gun control, then this is our pushback.
So what, Eric?
Why don’t you take action that actually matters?
LOL. Why bother pretending they are against it. The sad thing is Democrats in Congress are more opposed to Romneycare/Obamacare than the Republicans.
You have Democrats like Baucus, and now even Reid, admitting that ObamaCare implementation is going to be a “train wreck.” Now is the time to press the issue! And if the GOP leadership doesn’t, they will squander a great opportunity.
Nice symbolic gesture, but now let’s do something useful.
Defund this monstrosity, go public with all the train wreck comments from both sides, so that Obama will lose if he vetoes a budget that defunds ObamaCare, and starve the beast. Then we can repeal it, after it’s defunded and there is less political risk for the left in doing the right thing.
VERIFY BEFORE TRUST!
Boehner said they wouldn’t.
The repeal will never get signed, however, even should it pass the Senate. So after you do this again, defund it. Keep it at zero funding until we get a House, Senate, and President committed to repealing it.
Wouldn’t it be nice if they were smart enough to schedule this a little further along in the primary season? Make the House Communist Dems go on record after some of the initial damage is already felt.
Strictly for home consumption. If he had his druthers he'd double down on Obamacare. I don't believe a word the man says.
They should get on record (again) for repeal.
And they should leave the funding alone. It will crash. Democrats will own it. Don’t give them any excuse to blame Republicans for not funding the implementation.
Cantor and Boehner are so phony it’s nauseating.
Sure, they will be glad to offer up stand-alone bills in the House to repeal or defund ObummerCare, because they know Dingy Harry will not take the bills up in the Senate and even if he did they would never pass there.
What Cantor and the other fraud (Boehner) will NOT do is allow a repeal/defund amendment tacked onto a budget bill or a continuing spending resolution which WOULD force the issue.
These guys are sickening.
