A perfect bookend to the week, particularly in light of yesterday's news. Maybe all those discussions between Rubio and Schumer are paying off after all:
SCHUMER: Our insurance department is in power to protect families. We’re going to watch them like a hawk to make sure they do that. And if they don’t, those rates could go through the roof.
REPORTER: Is it because of Obamacare?
SCHUMER: It’s in part because of Obamacare, but healthcare costs have been going up in double digits for years and years.
Considering Schumer's role as Senate Democrats' chief messaging guru, this is big. Still, I feel compelled to deconstruct his Obamacare goalpost shifting, which is now par for the course on the Left, out of necessity. The first part of his answer is all about coercive government price controls. In short, Obamacare places all sorts of costly mandates on private insurers. To comply with said mandates, insurers raise premiums in order to stay in business. Then "insurance departments" step in and veto the hikes, in order to "protect families." Lawsuits, disruptions, and an exodus from the market ensues. If liberals are intent on driving private insurance into the grave -- and they are -- this is how they'll do it, absent a "public option," which would speed the process along. The second statement Schumer makes is a straight-up bogus excuse. Sure, Obamacare plays a role in this, but "costs have been going up in double digits for years and years." It's absolutely true that healthcare costs have risen steadily for quite some time. But it's also true that Obamacare was ostensibly passed to reverse this trend. Not slow it. Not curb it. Reverse it, by $2,500 per family.

#1)Instead of premiums going down, many are going up over 25%
#2)...AND that doesn’t include the increased taxation
#3)Nor the HIPPA violations whereby the Fed is advised of your current medical history updated
#4) that it will include cigarette smoking history
#5) possession of firearms in the home, reported by your physician (violation of confidentiality)
#6)and the fact that this history is going ONLINE ( and now subject to hackers)
Other than that , Obama CURE will solve the Fed’s insatiable appetite for taxation and additional funds’
at taxpayers expense .

When the Democrats passed their healthcare law they called it the Affordable Care Act.
Then, as Obama continued to delude himself that the new law would be wonderful in every way, including bringing down healthcare costs, he encouraged the media to call it ObamaCare so he would be able to take full credit.
Now, as we wait for the inevitable train wreck to occur and healthcare prices to skyrocket, while the whole enterprise starts to collapse, it’s time to muse on what the act’s third name will be.
It’s likely that when the bad days come, Obama will not want his name on his healthcare act, so he will likely disavow any connection with it, blame the whole thing on Congress, and encourage the media to promote this view. Thus, we might well have to live under the worst healthcare system in the world, ever to be known as SchumerCare.
Schumer sez... just one more step to single payer, the rainbow at the end of the nobamacare highway.
There is a common thread to the dems brazeneness in recent years. It’s called the “so what?” ploy. No one holds them accountable so they don’t even have to lie as much as before. They can just say “so what” and keep going. It takes less effort.
Schumer can say “yeah ObamaCare raised the costs. so what?” and no on will say squat. Obama can say “yeah the FBI look at the bomber dude and didn’t find anything. so what?” Hillary can say “yeah, people died at Benghazi, what difference does it make?”
