Dan Rather on Sunday once again made a comment about President Obama's opponents that some might find a bit over the top.
Appearing on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show, Rather said, "These people politically want to cut his heart out and throw his liver to the dogs" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
DAN RATHER: All of these things we’ve said about what the president could do, should do, might have, could have, but the central thing to keep in mind is his opponents - you talk about taking them out to dinner, making nice with them - these people politically want to cut his heart out and throw his liver to the dogs. That does make it very, very difficult to come on nice to them.
CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Yeah, it causes indigestion over dinner don’t you think?
KATTY KAY, BBC: Is that what they do in Texas Dan?
MATTHEWS: By the way, I’m with you Dan because I don’t know how much, I do think he doesn't enjoy the company of his fellow politicians. Excuse me, Mr. President, you’re one of them.
For those that have forgotten, Rather made the same comment on the Chris Matthews Show back in November 2010.
Wouldn't you say that's a bit of an overstatement?
More importantly, hasn't the President since the day he was first inaugurated treated his opponents with the same disdain?
Liberal media members rarely consider that.
No, I want him to stand trial for his many crimes, and his enablers and him thrown in Federal Prison. I would like to see Justice Holder extradited to stand trial in Mexico for his 300 counts of Accessory to Murder.
I simply want the same standards of law applied to all Citizens, or in the case of the president, wanna be citizens.
I want the members of Congress to answer for all the wide spread theft of the treasury of our Nation to enrich in-laws with hundred million dollar boondoggles in companys that exist for less than a year and produce nothing before declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying back the stolen money.
The lack of justice, destablizes the Nation. What Obama does to his liver is his problem.
Remember when Palin was blamed for the Tuscon shooting because she said the Republicans should “target” certain Democratic congressmen for electoral defeat? How does the left get away with wishing NRA members would get shot or that NRA leadership should be sent to Gitmo? Isn’t Rather inciting violence by the lefts’ own standards?

Yep, speaking of cutting opponents' hearts out, Rather is an expert. His most infamous work was his "news" presentation alleging that George W. Bush went AWOL from the Air Force National Guard. It was totally concocted out of thin air and was televised in the heat of the 2004 presidential campaign. IIRC, a FReeper proved beyond a doubt that documents presented by Rather to his CBS audience were forged!!!
Rather is a has been. No one listens to what that old coot has to say anymore. He works in the Zero credibility zone.

We’re evidently not going to be hearing about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers from Dan Rather anytime soon.
I doubt his opponents really want to do that, but certainly wouldn’t stand in the way of someone who did.
