Moscow is prepared for talks with all opposition parties in Syria, including the Free Syrian Army, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Friday.
Lavrov, speaking in Ljubljana, Slovenia, made his comments after Free Syrian army leader Salim Idriss said he would be ready to meet Russian authorities to discuss paths to a resolution of the war in Syria.
"We are ready for talks with all of the Syrian opposition," Lavrov said.
Russia has been a supporter of the Syrian regime and Lavrov will discuss the Syrian situation next week at a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian news agency RIA-Novosti reported Friday.

OOOh wonder what that means? Russia takes over Syria?
Good bye Assad....times up
At risk is losing a Russian naval base at Tartus, not withstanding possible loses of Russian military personnel to Israeli air strikes with at least tacit (to the future denied) support of Obama.
How do you explain 8-12 spetnaz vaporized? All lost at sea while training? There was a time that story might have flown with an extra Vodka ration for the survivors...but Today?

This could be huge (hugh). There is a long standing relationship between Moscow and Damascus. If Assad is losing Russian support, his time in power (and perhaps on this planet) are probably coming to a screeching halt in the near future.
It could also be, I suppose, the Russians giving Assad a ‘tune up’. As in “we’re losing patience, settle this mess or we’ll pull the rug out from underneath you.”
On the plus side, Russia would be sure to suppress any radical Islamic partners of the rebels (or at least steer them away from Russia).
This looks like a game changer—Without Russian help, Assad is doomed. We might be looking at the beginning of the end. Lets hope so-—I would not want to see this devolve into a general war.
The Russians have suggested this before, and nothing came of it. Probably means nothing, just a response to Israel’s bomb boomy boomy bomb bomb of the Iranian-Hezbollah arsenal-to-be.
