Reread my original message. I did not criticize his decision at all. Personally, if he kept the weight on I wouldn't care. It is none of my business. But since this was posted, I thought I would express my idea that those types of surgeries are quite fraught. If I have to listen to Sharon Osborne & Al Roker complain about the side effects, I think I'll scream.

Used to? I know I'm about to get flamed but damn it I don't care. Conservatives always preach personal responsibility & some, yes I said some of you are applauding this? Christie is 50 years old yet he lacks the personal strength to push food AWAY from his face. So much so that he has to have a mechanical device attached to his gut that regulates his food intake. This practice used to be exclusive to zoos. Is gluttony still a sin? Our generation is an embarrassment, that's right an American embarrassment to those who worked our land and fought wars before us. Can you imagine telling your grandad you have to tie a slipknot on your gut because you can't control yourself? Flame on but I find this disgusting.

Funny stuff. I’m in my 50’s and was up to 230 back in 2009, so I had to make the dreaded lifestyle change, and I did it by restricting food intake with no tricks or gimmicks. I’m 190 now, but it sure can be miserable at times.

“... he has already shed nearly 40 pounds.”
If he doesn’t lose 240# he should sue the doctor for malpractice!

Yeah; hes running for President. CORRECTION: "He THINKS he's running for President."
He'll never get the nomination and he'll NEVER lose the weight.

If he doesnt lose 240# he should sue the doctor for malpractice! So you figured he was walking around at about 440 pounds.
