Will Tyranny Ever Come to America?
Right Wing News ^ | May 8, 2013 | Ben Shapiro

Last week, President Obama traveled to Ohio to speak at the Ohio State University commencement. There, he trotted out his new favorite line of attack against Second Amendment advocates: He said it is unpatriotic to believe in the possibility of government tyranny. Why? According to Obama, the Founding Fathers created our government. The American dream and American government are one and the same. By definition then, believing in the possibility of government tyranny means opposing the Founding Fathers and the American dream.

Here’s how Obama expressed this nasty notion. He said that the Founders left us “the keys to a system of self-government, the tools to do big things and important things together that we could not possibly do alone … To conquer fascism and disease; to visit the Moon and Mars; to gradually secure our God-given rights for all our citizens, regardless of who they are, or what they look like, or who they love.”

Government, in Obama’s view, is the great guarantor of rights. Never mind that government — yes, government in America — has routinely stripped its citizens of rights. Never mind that state governments stripped black people of their basic personhood for decades, enshrining slavery with the help of the federal government. Never mind that for a century after slavery, state governments, with the silent assent of the federal government, enshrined Jim Crow. Never mind that the federal government stripped thousands of Japanese citizens of their rights during World War II and the unborn of their rights in 1973.

None of that matters to Obama. He said, “This country cannot accomplish great things if we pursue nothing greater than our own individual ambition.”

The Founders believed, to the contrary, that government’s job was to protect our most basic rights...

Seems to me it is already here in the form of the Democrat party and their minions in the EPA, ATF, etc.

I wish “hard tyranny” would just get here already. I’m not going to die on my knees, but the way they’re going, I won’t know that I’m on my knees when I’m killed anyway.

It’s already here.

Believe me . . . this dippy-doo did not write this speech . . . his puppet handlers wrote it, put it on a teleprompter for the puppet to read, and the sock-puppet read it. He’s only telling us what his handlers want us to hear.

bammy also once again incorrectly referred to this country as our democracy....seems the Constitutional “scholar” forgot we’re a Constitutional Republic.

but, if you keep repeating the lie often enough, guvment educated low information voters will believe we’re a democracy.

Funny thing: A Marlin/Glenfield Model 60, Hi-Point C-9 or that new 3-D printer Liberator pistol could still mess up that squad of gendarmes in less than 10 seconds.

Absence of truth in leadership is tyranny, especially when the people lose the power to expose the truth. I would say the Obama cult, including its media devotes, has less regard for truthfulness than any administration preceding them.

Ask any good democrat:

“Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used, and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against ***tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible***”

Senator Hubert H. Humphrey (D) Minn.
“Know Your Lawmakers” Guns (magazine), February, 1960, p. 4.

Huey Long was once asked if he ever thought that fascism would take over in the U.S. “Yes”, he replied, “but here it will be called anti-fascism.” I can see tyranny come to the U.S. under the same circumstances. We will be told that the government needs such-and-such a power or that certain restrictions need to be imposed, all under the guise of preventing Muslims or gun-nuts or commies or religious fundamentalists, or some other group that one side or the other will use to scare us, from taking over and imposing a greater tyranny on the rest of us.

Those guys are jusr wearing vests!

As Sean Connery told Kevin Costner in “The Untouchables”,

“Aim low, put your man down.”

Even the folks who enjoy pistols, instead of revolvers, with all those angles on that car, I might think that a few ‘misses’ would still ‘get there’!

A question: “All those guys, even though it is a photo, seem to ooze that, ‘we got da guns, we bad’ aura. Do you get that?”

I know in my heart that there are a large number of Americans, that have greater range hours, and more holes on paper and dents on steel, than these guys, or me.

It has happened may times in history the world over and it can happen here. The gov’t is presently in the hands of murderous, committed ideologues who have both the history, desire and means to act. It only comes down to what exactly they are planning and whether Patriots can stop them. THEY know how thin that line of Patriots is and this emboldens them. Sometime between this very moment and, say, three years they WILL act. Nature of the beast, that sort of thing.

. Never mind that government — yes, government in America — has routinely stripped its citizens of rights.

Libtards believe in the anarchic concept of freedom combined with the ends justifies the means and might makes right. For them, the government is free to use force and violate natural rights if it will achieve libtard ends.
