Benghazi whistleblower hearing: A grand public service
The Washington Post ^ | by Erik Wemple

Posted on 05/08/2013 5:36:39 PM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

We’ve heard the official line of Obama administration officials. Benghazi happened “a long time ago.” Benghazi has been thoroughly investigated—all the questions have been asked and answered, all the key officials have given their on-the-record testimony. The media have had their chances to ask their questions.

If all that is true, then why did the testimony of Gregory Hicks before a House committee today provide such a riveting and enlightening picture of the events of Sept. 11, 2012? Hicks was the State Department’s deputy chief of mission in Libya that night. He would become the chief before the night was over, as U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, as well as three other U.S. personnel, perished in the attacks.

As House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) noted in the hearing, the public hadn’t heard direct testimony from “a single person who was in Libya that night.” He instructed Hicks to give a rundown of what happened the night of Benghazi, and to take his time.

Hicks complied, to towering effect.

We still haven’t heard from one of the 37 people who were evacuated to Germany the next day.

That’s a good one! I’m trying to figure out how to make it post to my Facebook without me having to save it to my computer.

Would be interesting to count how many times ‘Obama’ was said during this hearing. I recall back in the Watergate days ‘Nixon’ was said quite frequently and ‘Clinton’ was said during the Lewinsky affair.. Are people that scared of Obama that they dare not say his name? What’s with the incessant need to protect a man who allowed Doherty and Woods to be killed by mortars, HOURS after the initial attack on Stevens?

Why not save it to your computer? Takes about two clicks, then post it from there on FB. Then scrub it if you want to. But who cares if you save that cartoon? Is it 1984 already?

Isn’t that the real question that these hearings have brought to light, taxpayers pay billions of dollars so the Pentagon has fast reaction military options available like the FEST, et.al., but at the very outset every military option was taken off the table even though admittedly no one knew how long the attack would last... Yes after the fact it is very easy to claim, air support was too far away, or ships were not in the vicinity etc. but the key question is why weren’t these options at least launched? If the media actually did its job then that would be the question that would be demanded a response... Obama said everything that could have been done was done.. That is a lie testimony reveals a whole host of options that were considered and then scrubbed but why? Of course we know it was all political calculus but the only way you are going to get real whislteblowers i.e. someone inside the inner circle to come forward is if there is a special prosecutor and he starts putting people under oath in the admin, then the sorry political truth will come out but of course the rats will contine to claim at this point ..... What Does It Matter? Credibility is the answer to that question...

“What’s with the incessant need to protect a man who allowed Doherty and Woods to be killed by mortars, HOURS after the initial attack on Stevens?”

Perhaps, the remembrance of what 0bama allowed to happen, gives rise to the thought of what 0bama might be willing to cause to happen.

Perhaps, the fact that 0bama allowed Americans to die is not so far removed from the notion that 0bama might cause Americans to die.

Yes, I am saying perhaps the witness are not protecting 0bama but are afraid of 0bama.

OK. It is posted now. The cartoon is a bit ironic since the ambassador was gay.

"Obama said everything that could have been done was done.."

The response should then be; Ok, since everything that could have been done was done, please list all the things that were done. Start with the number 1 and work your way up to "everything."

pardon the self-quote:

Given Ø's electoral lameness and the Enemedia's whorishness, if the dam breaks on this we might .. MIGHT .. see the latter turn on the halfrican bastard should his 'capital' begin to plummet.

How supremely entertaining it would be to see the maggots eating each other alive ! !

won't be holding my breath, but . . .

I am often critical of Sean Hannity but he is on the top of his game tonight on Fox. Love those two fire-eating Congresscritters he had on at the start.

I think it is disgusting just how far leftists will go to ignore problems in government. Do they actually think that they are doing us a service by protecting those that failed to perform their job?

Don’t know for sure but I’d suspect that they have become so political that they ignore and could never understand the actual way that they are perceived...to bad, they are about to become the trash of elections past. There are these folks on both sides but it sure seems to be really relevant on the Democrat side these days.

I watched this Kabuki theater all day waiting for a RINO to slap down Cummings or that bitch from NY by asking a simple question of the witnesses.

The question is: “When the attack started how could anyone on earth know how long it would last and therefore how could anyone claim they could not get help in time?”

If the USA did not have any assets to at minimum do a low level fly by then Ovomit has fundamentally transformed this country and our military into a bunch of race-O-phobic fairies.
