A former top U.S. diplomat in Libya said he was effectively “demoted” after questioning United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice’s explanation that the deadly Benghazi attack was the result of a protest over a video.
Gregory Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission under slain Ambassador Christopher Stevens, now holds the title of foreign affairs officer in the Office of Global Intergovernmental Affairs — an almost catch-all designation.
“I’ve been effectively demoted from deputy chief of mission,” Hicks said.
He testified to members of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday that he was “stunned” and “embarrassed” upon hearing Rice blame an anti-Islam YouTube video for the assault. He said he voiced his concerns, and upon returning to the U.S. received a “blistering critique” of his management style — after having recently been praised by President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Maybe there was no tanker at Aviano or Sigonella (I doubt it, but possible), but there is always a carrier in the Med and F-18’s can be configured for refueling other F-18s. The Israeli’s would probably have launched a tanker had we asked. Obama and/or Hilary refused the request for assistance, and then, after the Ambassador was murdered, they started the lies and cover-up.
9 minutes, 9 hours, what difference does it make now?
If they want us to believe that they had nothing ready to scramble in a short period, at any installation in the world, they want us to believe that Zero is a U.S. citizen, a true Christian, and loves America.
Ok let’s take the 9 hours to get planes in the air as true. Why? They had people in a known hotspot so why were they sent there with absolutely no support system? That alone is incompetence or worse whichever way you look at it.
Anyone should be able to take every one of their statements and rip them apart with not much effort. They just won’t.
It’s frightening how much control the regime has over the media and over half or better of the citizens. Outside of Brietbart and others in the marginalized blogosphere, there is a Stalinist or Maoist control over the press. The media is a willing and idealogically happy partner.
I wasn’t even talking about the media or citizens. I was talking about Republicans in Congress.

CBS said the pilots were on break and it would have taken 9 hours to get them back. I guess the work rules are such that they military pilots are entitled to a full break of 9 hours between shifts.
Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I'm only reporting what I heard on the CBS Evening News as an explanation as to why those jets did not take off.
