The American Conservative Union has just released a statement in support of Sen. Marco Rubios bipartisan effort on immigration reform, suggesting that there was widespread conservative support for the bill.
It is an honor to bring together fellow conservatives who feel strongly that we need to act now to fix our broken immigration policies and our borders, said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas in the statement. I congratulate my friend Senator Marco Rubio for his leadership on this issue and believe that conservative support for his efforts is growing.
Cardenas clarified that the bill was not perfect but that Rubio was working in good faith.

ACU = POS
Traitors and sell outs.
Yep...never supporting them again.
First GOProud and now this. The ACU is dead to me!
If this bill passes, in 10 years you can put into a museum Norquists’s No Tax Pledge and the archives of the ACU. Lenin was half-right when he talked about the Capitalists selling the rope he would hang them by. There will be no such thing as a viable national conservative political party. The GOP will have to transform into a “we can better manage” the welfare state party.
Wow. That’s poor. Really poor.
I can see straddling the issue and saying, we support immigration reform, and thanks Marco for the effort...let’s improve on it and pass it.
A blanket cheerleader statement for Rubio is pathetic.
Good grief is right. I am sick of the non-stop radio ads with MarcoPhone Rube-io promoting this monstrosity.
Benedict Arnold’s all of them. The end.
If Grover Norquist is behind this then you know he is running the ACU now.
This is more and more like Obamacare.
It’s not about *immigration*, it’s about control, and it probably ties up any “loose ends” they overlooked in 0Care.
Plus it brings into the fold Rino republicans and helps out terrorists.
How did Norquist ever gain power?
Where does he get the money?
How does he continue to exert so much influence?

I believe Rubio is acting in good faith. But I still don’t support it as it is.
What has the GOP done over the years to stop illegals from coming here? Reagan granted amnesty and Bush 41 and 43 did nothing. You really think they want to anger their business buddies who want the cheap labor?
... another question. Is the ACU going to “score” the Immigration Bill when they publish their ACU ratings?
How could they hold a ‘no’ vote against staunchly conservative members of Congress?
As regards this nation and it’s health, I refer to this group as the Gang of Nix.
Its time to get rid of the ACU....before the 6 Trillion dollar Amnesty kicks in
