Former Obama Speechwriter Behind Benghazi Cover-Up?

Writing at American Thinker, Ed Lasky points to Obama National Security Team member Ben Rhodes as the man possibly behind the Benghazi cover-up.

Lasky notes that when the Benghazi attacks took place, "CIA career officials clearly and repeatedly identified Al Qaeda and Al Qaeda-linked Islamic terrorists as the culprits behind the murder of four Americans." But the theory is that this news was suppressed because it "would cause embarrassment for the Obama team," which had spent years telling us Al Qaeda's best years were behind it and the "'tide of war' was receding."

Lasky asserts that Obama's 2009 Cairo speech began presenting this erroneous view of the world and progress in the War on Terror, but once the Benghazi attacks filled Americans' television screens on September 11, 2012, Rhodes was there to "alter CIA talking points," conforming them to the unrealistic depiction of the world Obama had presented in Cairo.

Rhodes, who authored the 2009 Cairo speech, is accused by Lasky of being the one who turned "attacks" into "demonstrations," and he or "someone [else] at White House level" allegedly injected the idea of a YouTube video "triggering spontaneous protests."(continued)

No. I don't get a dime from the government. I never said I did. But believe me, I am not averse to anybody who has gotten up and gone to work every day for decades finally deciding to try to recoup at least some of the money they flushed down the government toilet.

I never said to commit fraud. My point was that we normal, taxpaying, traditional Americans should never be bashful about jumping on the SSDI gravy train in the event of any disability at all, and not to be timid about figuring out that there is a disability. The scumbag Democrat moochers certainly know how to game the system. If you want to let them mooch up everything without grabbing what you can, knock yourself out.

I am certain they wouldn't want Lancey "Coward" sharing the foxhole with them.

Lancey just comes across as one of those kind of guys who probably spent more of his time in the brig for all the "5-finger discounts" he helped himself to at the PX.

"Tokyo Lancey" is just a societal leach: clearly a "Marine" who is cast more in the mold of a John Murtha, than a Chesty Puller.

He says on his personal page that he was supposedly a Marine at one time, but if he doesn't know that the high sign for the Marine Corps is "Ooh, Rah!" and not "Rah, Rah" it obviously means he either fried too many brain cells on too many weekend benders or he spent too much time in the brig (IN THE ARMY) to care to learn the difference.

It could also be that his whole claim of having been a Marine at all is a lie, too. I'm leaning toward that interpretation myself.

We aren't outnumbered yet. Not with 30 (R) govs, and the House steadily moving in the Tea Party direction -- and very likely (R) Senate pick up in 2014. Then the FUN really starts if we have those levers of power and the likes of Cruz, Lee, and Paul are in a position to hold court on what to do in impeachment proceedings pertaining phony birth docs....
