When they want you they will get you...unless there isn’t a law at which point they will make a law so that they can, then, get you.

And how can this possible be enforced? Require the printer to have an internet connection and send the design to some central location for permission to print it?
...
first thing to print with my 3D printer: another [unsecured] printer.

That sounds an awful lot like Ex Post Facto law to me... what does my cook friend think?

Won’t be long before they will require a background check if you want to exercise your common sense.

They are scared to death and desperate to do something about this technology because they know fear is the only tool they have left. There is nothing to stop someone from printing these guns right now and they know it.

So now Office Depot will require a three day waiting period to buy a printer.

Maybe someone should find a lot of a couple thousand SD cards that is 32MB and load the file on them and hand them out like candy at the local gunshow.

Yea, let’s see how that works out.

3D printers are out there and they are being replicated by 3D printers at an alarming rate. Most of the non ‘printable’ parts are generic stuff that can be scavenged from other things or bought individually except the controller and I’m sure that won’t take long for someone to find a way to open-source that too.

The raw material is just plastic.

Good luck with that law.

See how State Sen. Leland Yee skipped right on by the need to heavily regulate unlicensed use of the far more dangerous PRESSURE COOKERS.

This guy is just a fascist phoney doing the bidding of his totalitarian masters abroad.

Even worse, it puts the futility of background checks on traditional gun sales on display. Anyone can go to the nearest hood and pick up a throw away for a couple hundred dollars with no questions asked.

More like having to get a license to advise someone else how to avoid or recover from the common cold.

BTW, if you put your finger under your nose when you feel the urge to sneeze, just like the cartoons, it actually works.

Q. Can anything less than a military force carry the Stamp Act into execution?

A. I do not see how a military force can be applied to that purpose.

Q. Why may it not?

A. Suppose a military force sent into America; they will find nobody in arms; what are they then to do? They cannot force a man to take stamps who chooses to do without them. They will not find a rebellion; they may indeed make one.

You’re right

CD-R discs, take a whiel to burn them all but one could setup a few spindles of 100 each at a gun show with the files on them.

not like people can’t make guns already out of wood and metal parts from a supply store. good grief the liberals’think it could not have been done before with existing materials for a hell of a/lot less than a damn 3d printer.

They're too stupid to realize this is First Amendment issue.

Political speech is the exact speech the First Amendment was intended to protect.

good grief the liberals’think it could not have been done before with...

The more I think about it, the more all the commotion about gun pop-tarts, pencils, drawings and fingers makes sense. The left is creating an atmosphere where anything goes that puts a pox on firearms, and promotes less individual security against the state and thugs, and more dependence on the state and fear of thugs.

I LOVE THAT IDEA....

A “Library of Forbidden Freedom Knowledge”.....

Survival Guides and other stuff, make sure we include a “know thy enemy” section that contains “Alinsky’s Rules” as well and the works of Marx, along with “freeper comentaries.....

I wonder if it would have to be on burned media, or if it could be made in lots of say 10,000 by CD printing place...

Make it all in a HTML format....

Could be a very cool freeper project...
