A 3D printer cost at the minimum $8,000. I could go out and buy a firearm for a lot less.

I could go out and buy a firearm for a lot less. Obviously. OTOH I suspect some folks will make a lot of money selling stuff mfg with their 3D rigs.

A 3D printer cost at the minimum $8,000. I could go out and buy a firearm for a lot less. There was a thread a while back about a 3D printer with a LOT lower cost than that ($1,600?) -- Check the recent article-postings by Null And Void.

Here's a 3-D printer for less than $500.

Time to send this commie traitor back to North Korea. Oh, he’s not from there? Send him anyway.

I think the DIY ones (slightly cheesy looking) can supposedly be built for less than $500 in materials.

Imagine John Moses Browning needing to get a background check to built his first 1911. Lunacy!

Maybe this idea could work for digital music?
How’s that working out for ya?
Also, let’s make meth illegal too.
We can solve all of the world’s problems with laws.
After all people a bound to obey them, are they not?

I have to confess, I honestly do not what a 3D printer is, or how a "printer" can manufacture a gun? I thought printers printed paper that was insert into a paper tray.
Is a 3D printer a type of manufacturing equipment, that you stuff in one end with plastic polymer, and it spits a polymer gun out on the other end?
And my understanding is the firing mechanism & chamber & barrel STILL need to be steel, not polymer plastic, in for a gun to fire actual ammunition.
Quite honestly this does not make any sense to me. I see lots of comments & postings on FR about 3D printers, so apparently there must be some people at least who understand this, or at least enough to sound knowledgeable!

Jeez. Do these people ever actually listen to how stupid the torrent of twaddle coming out of their mouths is?
