Carter should have entitled his latest book “Fooled You”.
While posing as a Navy veteran, peanut farmer, and all-around nice guy, he hide another side of himself, that of the egotist, self-centered delusional politician. If something went his way (i.e. the 1977 Sadat-Begin Peace Accords, he took full credit. Okay, he did a good job.
However, when he screwed up, as in Iran and Nicaragua (and setting the seeds for a communist revolution in 1980-81, he didn’t like being held to account for his mistakes, which including naming people to the State Department who couldn’t run an outhouse.
With age, he has turned into a vengeful old bastard, adding in a tinge of anti-semitism for flavor.
This is not the Jimmy Carter of the 1970’s. But he it typical of the Democrats of the 1990’s and 2000’s, nasty, delusional, egotistical, much like our president.
