Pelosi: My, these Republicans certainly are obsessed with Benghazi

On MSNBC Saturday morning, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that she, too, wants to find out what happened in Benghazi, but that Republicans are taking political advantage of the investigation to distract from other, more important issues.

“The obsession that some of my Republican colleagues have in the House doesn’t look like it’s on the path to really finding a solution, but just to keeping an issue alive,” she said. …

“We certainly have to give the full attention Benghazi deserves, but we cannot let it soak up all of the congressional attention,” Pelosi said. “What would be the purpose of that?” …

“We want to find out what did happen, but … then it becomes an issue that is subterfuge: ‘Let’s talk about Benghazi forever, so we don’t have to talk about what the American people want us to talk about,’” Pelosi said. “They want us to talk about jobs, they want us to talk about economic security, economic growth.” …

“Much of what is being said out there by some of my colleagues in Congress is simply not true … it simply isn’t true,” Pelosi said. “So we have to make sure the public record is clear.”

‘What would be the purpose of that?’ Oh, I don’t know — finding out the truth, maybe? And anyhow, there was plenty more going on on the Hill last week besides the Benghazi hearings, from immigration-reform to fracking rules, and as long as we’re at an economic-growth impasse, with Democrats demanding more stimulus measures and higher taxes and Republicans looking for regulatory rollback and tax reform, why don’t we devote some attention to figuring out exactly whose failures led to the deaths of four Americans and the subsequent pre-election lies about the nature of the attack to the American people? And hey, if some of the focus is political, that door easily swings both ways — the degree to which Republicans are ‘obsessively’ trying to push the story is only matched by the degree to which Democrats are ‘obsessively’ trying to minimize it.

And what is it Republicans are saying that “simply isn’t true”?  After this week’s hearings and ABC report on the changed talking points, even certain media outlets are cautiously admitting that, er, well yeah, actually, there are some substantive lingering questions here and the White House is starting to look kinda’ bad, even as they’re determinedly trying to steer the story to the State Department as some kind of completely separate entity and keep the focus off of their shoddy MidEast policies. Sorry, but the time for sweeping this under the rug is long past, and somebody is certainly trying to distract here — but it ain’t the Republicans.

First of all, you are no longer in power, so it doesn't matter what you think Congress should or shouldn't do.

Second, Benghazi isn't soaking up "all if the congressional attention," so why even bring it up as if it is?

Pelosi is in childish denial that the states have never delegated to Congress via the Constitution the specific powers to interfere with 10th Amendment protected state laws which address these issues, despite the scandalously broad interpretation of Congress's Commerce Clause powers by FDR's activist justices.

But it also doesn't help when patriots don't make sure that their children are taught the federal government's constitutionally limited powers.

But none of these talk shows have any significance. Will Issa and the Republicans stay strong in demanding more enquirey to take place. Will Bohner break down and agree there has to be an extensive joint committee of Congress with full subpena power to take this to a head.

Does anyone have even the slightest doubt that if the situation was exactly the same, but the president had an R after his name that she would be leading the charge and staging massive demonstrations? The only difference is, is the republicans would not be circling the wagons for such a breach.

If a Republican president was in charge the hits would have been coming so fierce and from so many directions it wouldn't be possible to circle the wagons. That happens even with minor R mishaps and lapses in judgment.

To the best of my memory. Hicks was asked at the last Issa hearing if anything that supposedly was earlier to be put into place in regards of beefed up security measure in Libya,where instituted, answered no. Nothing was done

Also. Jason Chaffez exclaimed in amazement as how it was the salary levels where increased for guys like Nordstrom, for hazardous duty pay, BUT, none of the planned security plans where put in place. Nordstrom just smiled.

They where at the point in the hearing questions being raised as to just what security measures where to be included, after the Brits pulled out, Red Cross attacked. In line with that questioning is when the knowledge came forth that all that was done was for a small group of Libyan militia to be trained in driving trucks and light weapon security tasks. In order to replace earlier request for additional SST team members to be hired

If I can locate the actual time frames on that video I will share it with you guys referencing the original question/statement, if you so desire that action.
I'm sort of beat after a whole day with family travel to and from dining.

Carney is the typical Goebells demo put in place. They are commissioned to do their best to lie out their noses to protect their employer. Carny is married with I believe some children.
On a different note. I'm amazed we have not seen anything coming out on the past three days in Libya as all kinds of shit is going down.
Fox Channel tonight FNC, had a ten minute report as how all hell is breaking lose in that country.
Ginny Griffen provided the ten minute report.
I have been pre-occupied on various things and have only been responding to pings from Freepers for the most part for the past three days, and must admit I was not aware of the riots and bloodshed taking place in Libya over the past few days.
Just a heads up for you. Tis 1:54AM. Been a long day for me with family visits, dinner, for moms day. I'm checking out. Do have a great upcoming day.

I do wish more people would take time to check out the CSPAN videos on key things. One can fast forward through the often bull shit, and get a feel of what goes down.

Enough, other then to say. The key response regarding security issues at the CIA houses in Libya, where keyed in by a number of Repub Reps.. Each hold equal weight IMHO.
