Watch out for Petraeus in Benghazi scandal

Joseph Curl

EXCERPT:

Carnival barker Jay Carney looked almost ashen Friday as he took the podium to face a suddenly invigorated press corps. Of course, the public briefing came after a private session with “reporters who matter,” a sure sign the White House is in full hunker-down mode — and, more precisely, terrified.

Speaking for the White House, the flack said the CIA was fully to blame for the talking points. Fully. “That is what was generated by the intelligence community, by the CIA,” he said.

For the record, this is what the CIA “generated”:

“Since April, there have been at least five other attacks against foreign interests in Benghazi by unidentified assailants.” That line was stricken: Everything was fine there — fine fine fine.

And: “We do know that Islamic extremists with ties to Al Qaeda participated in the attack.” That line, too, was deleted by … someone. Instead, this was inserted: “There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.”

.........this scandal is just beginning. And the White House has picked a very bad scapegoat: the Central Intelligence Agency. The CIA follows RFK’s edict: “Don’t get mad, get even.” And when the CIA gets even, it isn’t pretty.

With the White House putting all blame on the agency, expect push back this week — nuclear push back. Gen. David H. Petraeus, the former director forced to resign after a sex scandal, is a dangerous man to the Obama administration. Mad and intent on getting even, he’s already talking, telling one reporter the talking points were “useless” and that he preferred not to use them at all. The floodgates will open this week, and by the end of business Friday, the scandal will be full blown...

Scary isn’t it? I’d like to know when we are going to hear from the CIC, he needs to get his masses settled down.

“I have no question but that they’ve got plenty of stuff on Issa. He always pulls his punches after taking forever to make some noise on an issue.”

It’ll be a repeat of Fast & Furious, ie, it’ll go nowhere.

The fix is in. The fix is always in.

That is one sad state of affairs.

Unless, of course, the Cold Case posse work on the 0bama forged documents nullify/trump all those FBI files.

In this card game, a Royal Flush provides a lot of comfort.

yep it is scary for the guilty. obama and his crowd are probably terrified at this point. Next shoe looks to be coming. Notice the closed door meeting on Friday Brennan sent the Acting Director of CIA Mike something or other (last name) to the closed door meeting with congressional inquiry. Brennan sent an Acting Director. Does this mean Brennan has removed himself or Brennan was afraid to go to the closed door inquiry? Something looks to be up, gut is yelling.

I must disagree. A sad state of affairs is one like was given our murdered in Benghazi. If the truth can be attained and the guilty (obama / hillary / panetta) can be punished it will be a glad, overjoyed state of affairs.

But since he has retired..can they touch his government or military pension?

Retired or not, IIRC he is still under oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, and to bear true faith and allegiance to the same (as have all of us who have ever pledged our lives and sacred honor in the service of our country, in whatever capacity: our moral obligation still rests on us).

Is this not correct?

It’s hard to tell depending on the person.

If you’re a professional hired mouthpiece liar, then you can fool many or some.

Like the hardcore alcoholic, they can nearly function perfectly even though drunk, fooling most.

Same thing.

It takes professional investigators, interrogators and interviewers to peal away the layers of deceit and lies from the habitual professional liars. Diversion and evasion are tools of deceit. A pro can recognize this quickly.

It’s what is finally starting to happen here regarding Benghazi gate.

For the Record ...

Making a correction.
Current Secretary of Defense is Chuck Hagel. Hagel is reported to have islamic ties.
Current CIA chief is Brennan. I stated Brennan has islamic ties. This maybe is an error. Not certain at this point.

I agree. The truth is what is most important. I have thought this was a FUBAR from the get-go. It should have been acknowledged as such and then these other questions might have gone away. Instead, the crazies decided to play politics and to make up insane cover stories. Now the American people (the ones awake and not watching whatever it is Americans watch these days when shows aren’t canceled because no one is watching) want to know what required such a massive effort to cover up. It must be bad.

I don’t know what is available in Crete, but Crete is closer to Benghazi than Tripoli is.

Can’t wait to see military or even former military take the 5th...

I’d pay to see that. Ollie North?

We don’t disagree at all.

The travesty started in Benghazi.

It has continued for 9 months.

I will be greatly surprised if there will be any tie to Obama, Hillary or Panetta. Some lower level politician will be hung out to dry for this. I could be wrong..but I don’t think so. The real guilty parties will skip away..unscathed.

Of course it is correct.

But do you think Patraeus will testify? Can he be forced to?

Unless he can say he personally talked to Hillary and Obama that night...now that could be interesting.

As a former warrior with Spec Ops experience, I cannot contain my anger and absolute frustration at the WH and DoS for screwing things up so badly at Benghazi. The frustration of Mark Baker (CIA) and COL David Hunt was palpable. The American public deserves to know who issued “Stand Down” orders to our warriors and why. Whoever did so deserves to be publicly hanged for this.

That future thing is always tricky. The past is 20/20 and known for the three mentioned in your post. There are two new ones and a new third one coming into current focus. Much is known on two of the three new ones in focus of 20/20. The third is somewhat of a bit of a mystery, or at least he is to me. Is there a time machine available?
