Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday that he's ordered a Justice Department probe into an IRS program that singled out Tea Party and other conservative groups for additional scrutiny in their applications for tax-exempt status.

Holder announced the investigation during a press conference in Washington. He said the FBI was coordinating with the Department of Justice to see if any laws were broken. He called the practice "outrageous and unacceptable," echoing remarks from President Obama a day earlier.

The probe comes as newly obtained documents show the current IRS chief knew about the agency's targeting of Tea Party groups as early as May 2012 and other officials in Washington were clued in more than a year before that.

Holder has used this trick before. Once the “investigation” is started, the Justice Dept. can ignore all press and Congressional requests for information on the topic by saying, “We’re in the middle of an investigation.” They stall until the smoking guns are lost and the public has lost interest.

If that's how holder wants it, we'll just concentrate on Benghazi.

Which, of course, will be a true statement since it’s this administration’s policy to target opponents and journalists.

Obama had the media report this I think. Benghazi is off the radar Obama says its not his department, Holder says he will look into it and that will be the end of it. No one high up gets in trouble and Obama is unscathed but was able to use this to get other things of the front burner. Obama is a bastard genius. The media is in the bag for Obama one big giant head fake and everyone is falling for it. My opinion only.
