At 8:46AM on September 11th, 2001 the George W. Bush Presidency became about making sure this country was safe from terrorist attacks. He succeed at this most important task.

when it is discovered that a US president protects and placates to the top tier of the power elites and the WALL STREET bankster corporate world and then uses propaganda to hide their own complicity, in every instance it has been at the expense of the American people. Those president’s popularity tanked and they left office with a legacy of being corrupt. Ronald Reagan was probably the least corrupt president this country has had in the past 100+ years but even he had to be disingenuous to the people at the expectation of those same elite powers.

I still believe Newt Gingrich would be president right now if he wasn’t destroyed by this website.

Oh, bullcrap. He had a ton of baggage to begin with and Romney put more effort into attacking GOP opponents than he did in attacking Obama.

Primaries are rough-and-tumble. Always have been, always will be. We got the likes of Romney and McCain because of the GOP-E and the fact that too many conservative candidates split the primary vote. And the anti-Romney candidates were pretty feeble as well.

I am having trouble translating the point you are trying to make. You sound like a 9/11 Truther.

Agreed that Gingrich was the best of a sorry lot. But he was still our best chance. If you recall, Romney led, briefly, after he went after Obama in the first debate. Sure the press would have hounded Gingrich on his already overhyped baggage. But the voters would have been left with the choice between a president who suddenly didn't look very presidential and a guy who used to be a lousy husband. If you are wondering how much voters care about marital fidelity I present our 42nd president as "Exhibit A."

If you have a policy axe to grind with Gingrich, by all means do so. But don't hide behind the mistaken idea that he was somehow unelectable.

I am going after your ludicrous claim that FR is to blame for taking down Gingrich.

W, representative of a political dynasty and big government, gave us the DHS, the federal military force that will eventually be turned against the people.

Quite true, except for the case with Herman Cain. If that wicked witch from the east (Gloria Allred) had an ounce of decency, I maintain HE would be president today.

There was pretty widespread support for him, even here, until he was forced to drop out of the race.

Not to mention that there hasn't been a conservative candidate worth squat.

In 2008, Thompson couldn't bring himself to actually compete. Huckabee was...well, Huckabee. Romney was probably the best candidate...but couldn't defeat the weakest GOP candidate since Alf Landon, John Sidney (just call me "Loser") McCain.

So, in 2012, we finally got Romney...because Gingrich was a two-ton truck with five tons of baggage...and Santorum couldn't draw flies.

If we're going to win an election, we need a candidate who actually deserves to win!

No, now you're arguing against a different point, and it's not the same one I initially made. That's called a straw man. Homey don't play that.

I was a Herman Cain supporter right up until the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel interview where he demonstrated an alarming lack of familiarity with foreign policy issues. I could care less whether he did or did not have an affair.

I think GW Bush was a Harvard frat boy all along, but like to play the “country boy” role for our consumption. The guy expanded federal intrusion into education, gave us a massively expensive drug plan, and did nothing to deter Iran or Pakistan.

Strawman? It's your own words:

There is a major reason why we have Barak Obama as president, and it doesn’t get discussed much here because places like this website are very much to blame ... I still believe Newt Gingrich would be president right now if he wasn’t destroyed by this website.

Own up to your own posts, dude.

With all due respect, Newt Gingrich wasn't destroyed by this website. He was destroyed by his own past. there were simply too many skeletons there.

The fact that Newt was surpassed by a candidate as weak as Rick Santorum should be sufficient evidence of his actual stature.

Any capable conservative President would be well-advised to have Newt on his side and in his "kitchen cabinet". But Newt will never be President.

And I'm not saying he wouldn't have been a good President...just that he'll never be elected. And he has nobody to blame but himself...

Well, I think any conservative worth anything in 2008 knew it was a lost cause running at the peak of Bush fatigue.

And I figure good candidates in 2012 stayed away because they knew Romney would fight harder against them than Obama, and events proved that out.

Obama was weak with four years under his belt. He's going have the Dems in worse shape come 2016 than the GOP was under Bush in 2008. THAT is when I think we'll see some better candidates.

Thank You Bushes for giving(inflicting) this nation BOTH the Clinton’s AND the Obamas.

Why don't you redirect your hatred where it belongs, the liberals and the MSM propaganda machine which spent every second of the day for 8 years trying to destroy the credibility of G.W. Bush?

Lets start with the three year, daily front page investigation of the Bush administration and who was responsible for "outing" the alleged "covert CIA agent" named Valerie Plame in retaliation for her husband's editorial which has since proven to be a lie. And what was the final outcome of that "MEDIA TRIAL"?

You want to bring up the nomination of Edwards? Virtually every conservative on this site applauded his nomination to the Supreme Court and rejoiced when he was confirmed.

You think the crash of the stock market and the burst of the housing market due to the failing of Fannie and Freddie was the fault of Bush? That's what your MSM told you and the rest of the ignorant voters in this country.

Sorry bro but Bush didn't give us Obama, your MSM did..........
