Michelle Obama criticizes the worship of celebrities, sports stars

Michelle Obama on Friday urged black youth to stay in school instead of dropping out to become a "baller or a rapper."
The first lady, speaking to graduates at Bowie State University, a historically black college, criticized the worship of sports stars and celebrities.
"Today, instead of walking miles every day to school, they’re sitting on couches for hours playing video games, watching TV," she said of black youth. "Instead of dreaming of being a teacher or a lawyer or a business leader, they’re fantasizing about being a baller or a rapper."
She went on to point out the high dropout rate for black students.
"Right now, one in three African-American students are dropping out of high school. Only one in five African-Americans between the ages of 25 and 29 has gotten a college degree — one in five," she said.
The first lady also encouraged parents to turn off the TV and take away video games.
"Take a stand against the media that elevates today’s celebrity gossip instead of the serious issues of our time. Take a stand against the culture that glorifies instant gratification instead of hard work and lasting success," she said.
Obama was giving her second commencement address of the graduation season. She spoke to students at Eastern Kentucky University earlier this month and will address graduates Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet School in Nashville, Tenn., on May 18.

The Obama’s don’t worship the pop star culture. They are worshiped by it. Obama is the king of personality cultdom.
The problem with getting black youth off the streets and away from the gangsta culture is that it is everywhere they go. The daddies are gone, unknown, or part of the gangsta culture, which is a militant rejection of the white man’s culture. The mothers go through lots of daddies, have lots of children and lots of abortions, and they are part of the gangsta culture. Schools, music, movies and black politicians help reinforce the militant rebellion, helping keep black kids in the gangsta culture. If blacks want to change what is happening to black children, they will have to change the culture. Those that have decided to do that have, for the most part, encouraged Islam, because it goes so well with militancy and anti Western sentiment. That turns militants into future terrorists, which is what the left wants.

Nor does she seem to care that he loves to jet to LA and Las Vegas to rub elbows with the rich and famous who populate these western la-la lands and contribute to his war chest.
It's always do as we say with this deceitful, hypocritical couple, not do as we do. And Moochelle Antoinette just CANNOT keep her Big Momma mouth shut on what everyone should do in their lives.
I don't think they're particularly star-struck....they just want to continually surround themselves with rich, powerful, talented and beautiful people to show the world that they've also "arrived".
And they both enjoy being the very "celebrities" she advises college youth not to worship.
