That ‘hand’ is probably a human hand reflection on the auto windshield that got caught in the photo.

At least in Colorado green sky usually means hail. And plenty of it !

I remember that kind of green sky from some Texas tornados...what makes it green?

According to meteorologist Craig Bohren,

http://ploneprod.met.psu.edu/news-events/events/meteo-colloquia/2012/craig-bohren

..."green thunderstorms are caused when afternoon light, already depleted in blue wavelengths by traversing a long path through the atmosphere, passes through storm clouds that absorb much of the longer-wavelength colors (reds and yellows). What remains is a green light that actually emanates from the cloud base...

"...When a significant fraction of the longer wavelength is filtered out by the cloud water, green is the predominant color of the light that remains. Of course, a lot of water is required to do this kind of filtering."

(from the Weatherwise 2001 article)

My 95 year old aunt lives in Haysville. I’m not liking this.

2.5 Mi NE of Luther OK, circulation with debris.

Helo is about 50 yards from circulation, seeing debris whiz by.

Multiple vortices, “gonna be a big one, guys, trees out of the ground.”

You have to see it, and you have to hear the racket—like a freight train roaring by right next to your ear. It’s all kind of magnificent, too—

It is storm chasers on the ground 50 yards away. Helo is much further away.

I lived through a 1 mile wide tornado that came through Indianapolis back in the 1950s. It skipped over our neighborhood, but not others.

OK tornadic cell is tracking at about 35 mph paralleling Hwy 66. Tornadic activity for about 45 minutes.

Tulsa area is in current path, if storm holds together.

Here in Colorado, green like that has always been bad

The US Geological Survey considers parts of Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming to be part of the Great Plains, the western most portion of the vast North American Interior Plains.

OK helo video is being showing on The Weather Channel.

Possibly their website or KFOR-TV out of OKC.

Back in the 50’s, neighbors, friends and relatives called us crazy for leaving Kansas for California earthquakes.
