Did I miss something??? When did Federal employees get collective bargaining rights?

So the IRS is a union environment?

Intimidation could have come (and probably did) from BOTH the management AND the UNION.

That’s a nasty squeeze play.

The NTEU pac is, interestingly enough, called the “TEPAC”

Tepac and the 2012 Senate campaign:

the Union’s TEPAC gave $157,000 to Senate candidates. $1,000 went to Republicans. All of it (0.6%) to Olympia Snowe (and even there, they gave 5X as much to Angus King, who defeated her). They gave heaviest to candidates from red or purple states (NV, ND, WV...)

Could be. The problem was figuring out what kind of back channel would connect the White House to the IRS activities, since it’s not very likely that they went through Shulman, a Bush appointee. This explains how they could have done it.

President Obama met with anti-Tea Party IRS union chief Colleen Kelly in the White House the day before the agency targeted Tea Party.

update :

The whole story about Kelly meeting with Obama in the White House is based on nothing more than the WH visitor logs. Those logs are available online. You can look at them yourself, and see that, in addition to Kelly, there are 116 other people who visited the OEOB on 3/31/10 for the "Workplace Flexibility Forum." You can see what time each person signed in (all ~1200). You can see what time each person signed out (all ~1700-1730). 8 posted on Monday, May 20, 2013 5:48:40 PM by Conscience of a Conservative

Damning.

Any GOP politician or pundit who doesn’t use this information can be considered just as much one of the enemy as the main group of conspirators.

Scorched earth, rear guard action, or the GOP is dead as a national party within two or three election cycles.
