Substitute “half” for “twice” and it would be closer to a valid statement. I know how military promotion boards work, and have witnessed those ranked higher in merit dropped from a promotion list in favor of a much lower merit ranked minority in order to meet “diversity goals”. I don’t buy the “twice as hard” crap.

Uh huh...I don't have a cell phone, a big screen TV or anything that is new and fancy. I only have basic cable, no magazine subscriptions, no night out at the movies, no vacation or trips, OLD siding on my house, OLD kitchen that needs remodeling JUST to qualify as stone age, OLD car, OLD prescription in my eyeglasses and I lead a pretty monastic and bare bones life, financially.

I SHOULD say that when “O” got elected, I declared and have maintained, a moratorium on discretionary spending.

I make do with whatever I have that works. Until or unless it breaks, I don't replace ANYTHING.

However, I routinely see some of these so called minority Americans living wonderfully well and with NO obvious means of making a living.

The phrase “you have to work twice as hard as everyone else” really jumps out at me, because these are the exact words I told my son in junior high, after he was diagnosed as being dyslexic. His eyes lit up with excitement and he said, “I can do that!”

After he graduated from college, which took him exactly 4 years, he had four job offers to chose from, all in his field. His employers all say the same thing: “He’s the best worker I’ve ever seen!”

I’ve yet to hear anyone describe Obama that way.
