That is always “appropriate” to use today’s vocabulary. “How am I supposed to know?”

BS Hatch is a Washington insider. We need another Mike Lee to replace this dinosaur.

Senator Nelson is giving IRS a soft ball question about social welfare organizations can engage in political activity. He’s showing no concern about the wrongdoing by the IRS.

Nelson now shifting the focus to process and the law. Just a diversion and an attempt to place the blame on Congress and the law.

Are there any reports yet on Tea Party demonstrations in front of IRS buildings around the country?

How about a tough crackdown on the IRS and government employee unions?

Pat Roberts is reaming the IRS witnesses accusing them of acting like his 4 year old daughter’s childish behavior. Accuses IRS of political harassment and no one will accept reponsibility. Says IRS has been politicized.

Senator Pat Roberts, R-KS: “We have a saying in Kansas, never tell a lie unless you have to, but if you don’t have a damn good lie, then tell the truth”. Wonder where he’s going to go with that.

Senator Crap gives the IG tough questions and got him to admit that while he has found no political motiviation, it’s only because it’s based on the statements of the people interviewed in Cincinnati, who were not under oath — and got him to admit that his conclusion is based on the evidence so far and does not rule out it was based on political motivation.

Crapo asking the right questions of IG. The idea that those involved claimed that they had no political motivation is like asking a bank robber if he stole the money. Why would those involved in the crime admit they were doing it?

The Dems have been using the IG report (Page 7) that there was no partisan motivation. In many ways, the IG report is part of the cover-up.

Wyden now joining Nelson calling from an even tougher crackdown on non-profits, including divulging publicly the names of the donors. This will be the Dem meme. It is all about the Citizens United decision the Dems would like to reverse.

Yep. Wyden essentially says that anyone applying for C4 status is committing tax fraud because they don’t disclose their donors. He is applying justification for what IRS did.
