Senator Blames Okla. Tornado On Climate Change, GOP

Junk Science: Despite no evidence that devastating tornadoes have increased in frequency or intensity due to fossil fuel use, another warm-monger blames the Moore, Okla., disaster on GOP "polluters and deniers."

Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., thought the devastation of Moore was a crisis that should not be wasted as he took to the Senate floor Monday to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic (man-caused) global warming (known by its acronym, AGW).

Other Democratic leaders like Al Gore, who profited handsomely off the manufactured hysteria, and President Obama, who promised the sea level would stop rising and the planet would begin to heal upon his election, have exploited every natural disaster, such as Superstorm Sandy, as proof that fossil-fuel pollution is leading us to planetary doom.

Whitehouse's rant was epic. "So, you may have a question for me," Whitehouse said. "Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I'll tell you why. We're stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn't just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas."

Whitehouse went on to blame AGW for floods, storms, dying forests and acidified sea, stopping just this side of plagues of locusts.

We do have a question for him: Why are you, Sen. Whitehouse, politicizing this tragedy without one shred of scientific evidence to back you up?

They don’t call it Tornado Alley for nothing.

If Tornadoes are spawned by Global warming it has been warming for a thousand years.

This guy is trying to make a few points with Obama so he can get to the head of the butt kissing line.

This isn't an isolated incident. Even Liberals on some mainstream sites like Yahoo are advocating for withholding help from Oklahoma victims because they live in a conservative stronghold. Their logic is that since Conservatives and Republicans are for smaller government and reduced spending they don't deserve any kind of aid.

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat, so long as the severance included paying IN to the feds, and the return of whatever monies were paid in since the last disaster that actually received federal aid, and from their regulations. You don't get to exclude someone from insurance coverage AFTER you sucked him dry for premiums for decades.

And they're getting screwed anyway. For every million in "aid" they get, what they paid in plus their share of new national debt is probably $10 million. You don't think they'd jump at the chance to opt out, so long as they get to opt out of BOTH?

I mean, by their "logic", why should conservative have to pay tax increases that were voted for only by liberal Congressmen?

Morons like Sheldon can’t help themselves. They believe in myths and legends. If Sheldon had his way, he and his tribe would be throwing human sacrifices of TEA Party members into volcanos to stop the tornadoes. He’s a low I.Q. moron.

Shouldn't politicians have to have an IQ at least in the double digits?!?!?!

This is the logical result when you do away with "literacy tests"

Well, you have to admit, there is one promise Obama kept. The sea levels are not rising (of course they weren't in the first place).

http://www.norman.noaa.gov/2009/03/us-annual-tornado-death-tolls-1875-present/

At the end of this post, we have a table of the annual death tolls going back to 1875 (1875-1949 from Grazulis, 1950-2008 from the National Weather Service.) Although the data represent our best understanding at this time, it is possible that the numbers could change, if additional information was found. Occasionally, it’s discovered that a fatality associated with a tornado was missed or double-counted. We’ll correct such entries if we find about about them, but that will likely be a rare event. The death tolls are for direct deaths, i.e., someone killed directly by the impact of the tornado. It does not include indirect deaths, which might not have occurred if the tornado had not happened, but the tornado was not an immediate cause. Examples of indirect deaths that have occurred include a heart attack upon seeing damage to a neighbor’s house, falls when going to shelter, and a fire caused by a candle lit when the power went out after a tornado.

Click the link to see year by year tornado death totals for the U.S., as well a graph of same, showing trends.

Liberals and other idiot life forms will never fail to use a disaster as a means to further their agenda. Not only is it a really incredible lack of manners and tact...it is assinine in the extreme.

Dems keep proving me wrong. Whenever I think they can’t sink any lower, they do. Whitehouse must be in competition with Reid to see who can make the most despicable, untruthful, classless comment on the Senate floor.

*When Clinton got up to speak he started by saying Katrina was caused by global warming which started THIS DECADE which means he blamed it on W. Global warming apparently did not exist during Clintons era.*

The science is settled.

Global warming only occurs when a Republican pressident is in office. It’s science!

Democrats will believe anything, but facts.
