The Brits don’t have armed guards or an armory in a barracks? 20 minutes for armed police to respond? Seems odd. Something doesn’t add up.

The BBC’s website does not mention beheading but contains a picture of the crime scene with the victim’s picture “dazzled” so as not to be recognizable.
Prayers for a young soldier, butchered by barbarians in the street, and for his family.
Shame that so many FReepers here seem to find this story a source of amusement, or an excuse to make ‘funny’ remarks. Yes, I understand and largely agree with many of those comments made. But it’s a real shame to read through the first 20-odd comments and find not one person has thought to offer prayers or sympathy for this young man and his family.
It is quite difficult to walk down the street carrying a shotgun. Just saying.

It was plenty diverse, even in the 70’s. Indian children in my elementary school. Chinese immigrants also. What muslims there were strictly adhered to Western dress codes to an extent. My mom doesn’t remember a single burka during our stay. We went back for a visit in the early/mid 80’s and she saw a few, mainly in Gatwick and Heathrow and in our travels on the rail system. We even drove by our old house. Little old British lady puttering in the rose bushes.
They only have to get momentum in the birth rates. After that, it’s all over but the shouting. The only real stat that matters is percentage muslim in the 15-35yr old age group. Once that’s 25-30% you’re toast, historically.

Most handguns are banned on the UK mainland, but some are legal. And handguns are legal in Northern Ireland.

Hi, I am not liberal or see no evil person.
I am a conservative who supports highly restricted immigration, and wants extremist Islam much more clamped down on in the UK, and also opposes the idiotic PC nonsense that has allowed such extremism to flourish, with the results we see today.
Looks like they were attempting to garner swat teams or some of the like. Not knowing exactly what they were headed into.
I think in London these things have become more the norm than the exception. We are hearing cases as this throughout the US when they Dare to call it what it is.
I am not so sure how our officers would react in a situation as this. There hands are as tied as our military anymore. Their careers are often on the line for how they handle these beasts.

96% of the UK isnt Muslim. And contrary to myth Stateside, the current govt is limiting immigration and Muslim immigration. And the Muslim pop. seems to be levelling out.
4% of the UK is Muslim. The idea it will become 10, 15, 20, 25% is simply not going to happen.
Islam is all about taking life...others as well as themselves..and generally the more brutal the happpier they are. And if not directly involved “silently” supportive of those who commit these crimes as there is never a “march” to oppose these. But spit on the Koran and they’re in the street!
