Tatum Raetz graduated from kindergarten this week, just three days after her police officer father was killed while investigating a drunk driving case.
But the 5-year-old girl definitely felt her fathers presence at her ceremony, thanks to nearly 300 uniformed officers standing in his place at her Phoenix elementary school.

Awesome.
The story made me think of the Google image of yesterday
God Bless them!
I seem to be having problems with my monitor...
Same here.
I hope this didn't cost the taxpayers, for me there are more than just warm feelings resulting from these mass displays of strength and unity and raw mass, by the uniformed, armed, government, unionized, public servants who are becoming the most powerful political force in many of our cities, I feel a little discomfort.
Mine too, it got awfully blurry
Very moving.
RIP Officer Daryl Raetz.....
I lost my mother to cancer at the age of 22.I was devastated by her death despite being a young adult and the fact that her death was expected for months.I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like for a 5 year old to lose a parent so suddenly and violently.
Damn, my monitor got all blurry reading this.....
If you want to get mad after tearing up a bit, the perp was an illegal alien who has had prior DUIâs and deportations....
Ditto.
But I think what you are trying to say has just flown completely over the heads of all who are caught up in the emotion of the moment.
Wonder how the other graduating kids, not members of the ruling class, felt?
I thought about it before I posted, but I felt that things are getting so bad and that the realization is so widespread among conservatives and Independents, that it had to be mentioned. When you live in a city that they have taken over completely and are bleeding dry, like they did in San Diego as one of many national examples(Bob Filner for God’s sake?), you see this government display as something more than just a show of sympathy for the daughter of a traffic fatality.
Thank you! If it was this kid's high school graduation, I could buy it. But kindergarten "graduation"? Come on, who's kidding who? This had nothing to do with the kid.
Disagree. I’ve been to enough elementary school ceremonies (both as a parent and as a presenter) and invariably you see the children peering out into the audience, hoping for a glimpse of their parents. I doubt the 5 year old can process that daddy is never coming home from work and would still be searching for him to be there. This was important IMHO.
This was absolute awesome by these LEOs and others.
It was tough for me losing my mom unexpectedly at 15....must be terrible for this little 5 yr old
And the fact that it was an illegal alien involved...I am angry
Fix your monitors with this Kleenex, here...
God bless those sweet guys.
