The bereft family of executed soldier Lee Rigby today described how they saw the soldier's body on television and spent 12 hours trying to contact him before they were told he was dead.
The machinegunner and Drummer, 25, who recently served in Afghanistan, was run over and then hacked to death at 3pm on Wednesday by Islamist fanatics as he walked back to his south-east London barracks.
His step-father Ian Rigby sobbed today as he admitted his heart had 'skipped a beat' when he realised the murder was in Woolwich and feared it 'could be my son'.
'As soon as it was on the telly we were attempting to get hold of Lee, obviously we couldn’t and it was the middle of the night probably when we got confirmed to us it was Lee,' he said.

Exactly. The part of this that upsets me the most is how passive the British people are about this. They all watched and took pictures but no one tried to stop these monsters. No one person has to be a hero but couldn’t someone have run over them with a car or a group done something? The Welfare State has turned the British into sheep.
Except more Muslim immigrants, of course.
A lot has changed since 9/11/01, and not for the better. At least we could call a terrorist a terrorist back then. Nowadays they are misunderstood, disenfranchised victims who commit “workplace violence” and lash out toward their “oppressors.” This is not to say that we as individuals won’t say “Let’s Roll,” but for the country in general, we’ve become sheep for the halal slaughter.
Britain invited the cancer in, now it must choose between a painful and probably violent excision process or sitting back and letting it go terminal. Those are the only options I see for them now. Sweden is in the same boat.

When do you suppose the mostly peaceful religion of Islam will direct its followers to practice restraint? Are they going to put out that fatwa the world over? Leave the mostly peaceful Christians and Jews alone? No more wild killings? Nope, because it would be against their kookran.

It's a "teachable moment" on the success of British knife control laws in destroying the "knife culture". And after such great success in terminating the "gun culture" and "knife culture" are now working on the "cudgel culture". Their actual success is to convince the shrinking base of honest citizens that the government has taken away any form of self-defense (since everybody knows that even the elite armed London police probably took 20 minutes waiting for the "go" from 10 Downing), and sides with some group it feels it can control. Or is too nasty to control, so comes to an "understanding" with it.
Despite protestations of horror, this is what is intended for our near future. Fortunately for us, even the acknowledged 3% of the American people legally armed, and mentally prepared, is too big for the government to stuff that genie back into the bottle.
If you notice, other "advanced industrial countries" had an easy time disarming their citizens, and now have problems with islamists when they were invited or infiltrated in, and now are impossible to defend against. It won't be pretty, but despite the best effort of the statists, it won't be going down that way in America.
Was purchasing a new truck yesterday.... While trying on a number of vehicles per se I removed my gerber Applegate fairbain full size folder to keep the clip from “accidentally” snagging the new upholstery..... Sales lady asked to see the knife, showed me her serbenza (sp ?) that Chris Reeves makes ? Gotta love a gal that’s not afraid to show ya her serbenza ...:o)
She stated she packs such due her contact with many customers aka strangers she takes on test drives etc ...
Told Her she needed to get her CHL and carry a handgun. She just grinned and told me she was also carrying a handgun. We wound up talking guns and trucks, comparing knives, carry options, concealed or not options and ammunition types etc ...
She was pretty, she was smart, she was secure in her environment as is my girl Friday, my friends and family. Crazy thing is my close circle of friends, family, coworkers, neighbors all have carry permits or exercise the option of vehicle carry of handgun and or long gun.
The culture in my arena is not panic at the site of a firearm or mere mention of a tool of self defense such as the knife.
It will take multiple generations of polidiots to disarm and reverse the mindset here.

I haven't given much thought about combat inside a vehicle, but I'd think a good push dagger would work well for security of grip, and the ability to inflict close-quarters damage.
Knife ?, agree push dagger is great yet double edge can be a legal fubar episode.
