A Kentucky policeman was shot and killed in an apparent ambush when he stopped to pick up debris on a highway exit ramp, the Courier-Journal newspaper said on Sunday.

Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis, 33, was found shot to death on an exit ramp on the Blue Grass Parkway in north central Kentucky early Saturday morning.

Maybe, unless again it was like gang initiation where the desired victim needed to be a cop. In which case then they’d put out something in the road and wait for either a cop to come get it, or an accident to happen and a cop to come.

I believe it has something to do with the aftermath of 911. Inspections of debris (trash) on roadways for possible IEDs. Policy revisions maybe are needed.

In rural areas picking up debris is pretty much SOP for patrol units. Along with motorist assists. Even helping change tires. Happens a lot here.

Lots of possible motivations for such an act.
Gang initiation...albeit a ballsy act, usually
gangbangers target people they are pretty sure
can’t fight back. Could be the officer was dirty
and was being “hit” by people he had burned.
And it’s very possible that said officer was a
petty Nazi who misused his authority and abused
the citizenry for fun....and made the mistake
of exercising his authority in an ill advised
manner against someone who decided to not just
let things slide.

We may never know the real reason....we can however
be quite certain that they will pin this on somebody
if at all possible. TPTB simply cannot allow the
sheeple to realize that the armed enforcers they
employ can be dealt with effectively and with impunity.

Not long ago trash on roadways was being used as a method to show a drop zone for something for someone to make a pickup. Valid theory (imho).

Methinks, youthink right. I remember 12 years or so back when the Sheriff of lee County MS was gunned down by suspect he went in after, there never was atrial. Just a hearing to ascertain if it was a good shooting by the deputies.

I'm not sayin it isn't possible just that the obvious choice is usually correct and ambushes of LEOs is common (almost got whacked myself once) whereas your idea isn't anymore. During prohibitionwe had that goin on due to crooked cops but it (assasination) is rare blue on blue stuff now.

I just know how a family member or friend of that Kentucky officer would feel reading people speculating that a brother officer whacked him.

It is way more likely that a mere whack job did it than your suggestion.
