I always liked Merle Haggard’s music too, but he wrote a song which was inspired by what President Barack Obama called “Hopes Are High,” and which he wrote two days before the inauguration.
It is easier for me to say who I will listen to.
George Strait, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Ray Price, Aaron Watson, Alan Jackson, Rick Trevino, Bob Wills, Diamond Rio, Little Texas, and Wade Hayes. There hasn’t been a true country act start up in almost 15 years.
That about does it outside some classical pieces and occasional 80’s arena rock band.
"Wind beneath my Wings" is also a great song by her.
Well, you can't really say that about Barbra Streisand. Though she has (had?) a great voice, she never wrote a note. Kinda like Linda Ronstadt.

Except that the people she speaks of do not truly represent The Tea Party. She picks the worst of the mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging rednecks she finds on YouTube and calls them Tea Partiers. Not so. The Tea Party is truly representative of people who want lower taxes and limited government...no matter whether they are Dems or 'Pubs.

I can’t tell if your response is sarcasm. I’m asking if he heard of one of the most successful albums from the past decade from one of the most famous bands of the past twenty years. Anyway, as he correctly pointed out — music is subjective.

The older ones have been banned here for years. The other ones, I’ve never heard of so it’s no harship on my musical enjoyment.

It almost happened to me when I was interviewed as a “man on the street” in Seattle about 20 years ago after the Jim Beam trial. Jim Beam won the “fetal alcohol syndrom” case brought on by the parents. I argued that not only did I agree with the verdict but that the sate should have, and I quote, “frivolous lawsuit laws”, enabling Jim Beam to sue them. I even stuttered a bit before I said that. They still put it on the air. And it almost got me kicked off the jury of the civil lawsuit I was sitting on, except I told the Judge the two cases were not in the least bit related. Mine was about a kid falling off a slide in a city park onto asphalt and suffering a subdural hematoma. The city won...

I've always believed that being speaking comfortably & confidently in front of large crowds is a very powerful thing. It can set oneself apart. Most folks hate it.
I actually enjoy it. You just have to keep your wits about you. Some got it....some ain't.
It is definitely an asset. Most people never get a chance to though.

I’m in complete agreement. I love public speaking. I really enjoyed toastmasters back in the day and my forte was table topics.
The microphone in the face thing is a learned skill. Sadly, most people at TEA party events don’t have it.
