It’s all part of the liberals’ program of making kids either fear the possession or or hate guns. Nothing new here.

“...Mieke Crane is the mother of the six-year-old kindergarten student who brought the gun on the bus.

“I think they over-reacted totally. I totally do,” said Crane.”

It’s conditioning, Pavlov-style.

FREAK on the kid at the mere mention or sight of a toy gun, and he/she automatically relates the object with fear of punishment.

They know exactly what they’re doing to our kids.

I taught my kids at very young ages to shoot. They were immune to all this bullsh*t by the time they got into school.

The last days of kindergarten and he gets detention? Ha, as if kindergarten is required. Short of homeschooling, the kid’s parents should tell the school where they could put the big bad scary weapon and pull the kid out of school so he can have a longer summer vacation.

Parents can’t save the schools

They most certainly can but refuse to step up. They can be the squeaky wheel at the PTO. They can go to the school board meetings to voice their opinions. They can run for school board. They can volunteer at school. They can get hired at the school. They can get to know the teachers and principal. They can send letters to the editor of the local newspaper. They can get other parents together to protest ridiculous rules. The school wouldn't exist without the parents' tax dollars so the parents have a huge say in how the school operates.

Where the hell is common sense??? Why didn’t the bus driver tell the kid to shut up, it’s a toy?? And more importantly, why did he have to report it to “the authorities”? How stupid are we to continue down this commie path? THAT should be who’s in detention, not the kid that brought the toy.

But a quarter-sized condom would have been just fine.

Over-sized for liberals.

If this is a 'gun' for a Lego minifig, it's a hell of a lot smaller than a quarter.Hell, it's smaller than a silver 3 cent piece, and that's the smallest coin America has ever minted that I'm aware of.

Communist educators should be shoved against a bullet-pocked wall to stare at some real guns.

This is designed to scare children into reacting negatively to any gun. They will instantly associate it with fear of...something

Not of someone WITH a gun attacking them, but fear of OWNING a gun.

I have a nanny from Portugal where the socialist teaching about guns was nearly totally complete. She would not even LOOK at a gun - she would avert her eyes as if in fear of it infecting her or something. She was literally afraid to be in the same room with it, and very nearly the same building.

Only when I had it disassembled for cleaning did she seem to sense there was not monster inside it... or something. It took months to get her to try to shoot one, and now she loves it. She said she does not remember why she was so afraid of it. It is brainwashing.

I mean no offense...Those all sound like good ideas. Fortunately the results are in, so parents can now avoid wasting their time on good-sounding but futile ideas and instead spend their time raising their kids. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.

The school wouldn't exist without the parents' tax dollars so the parents have a huge say in how the school operates.

That needs a /sarc tag. :-)

Do they take the cannons out of the school monopoly sets? Cause that’s about how big this dangerous assault rifle is. Way way way way way way way way too small to even be mistaken for an actual firearm.

I guess there are no super soakers allowed on the playground?
