Last week, the executive board of Boy Scouts of America voted to allow openly gay kids into their programs, thus compromising their long standing set of Christian morals and values. When I heard about their vote, it saddened me to see them succumb to the pressures of a debauched society.
In my report last week about their compromise, I predicted that a number of church sponsored Boy Scout programs would be ended the same way it happened in Canada when they allowed the gays to go camping with them. Well, it seems the exodus has begun.
Southeast Christian Church first opened its doors in 1962 with 53 charter members in Louisville, KY. It has an average weekly attendance of 22,000 and a membership of over 30,000. It is the largest church in Kentucky and fifth largest in the United States.

According to the 2012 BSA National Report to the Nation (which was released in FEB 2013), 63.6% of all registered scouts were in units chartered to religious institutions. The 6 largest were ...

... Based on past experience I can see the former temporizing and ultimately caving in as it has on the issue of proabortion Catholic politicians. The latter, though, may show more backbone, withdraw from the BSA, and start their own male youth program.
Lots of Catholics on FR posting on these threads who strongly disagree with that viewpoint. While the National Catholic Committee on Scouting has essentially accepted it, many within the Church believe it is going to be reversed.
Withdrawal of the Mormons will hit the BSA right where it hurts so I hope they do it.

Informed insiders have said that the LDS leadership is tired of being a punching bag regarding homosexual marriage (Prop 8 in CA, 2008) and is very fearful that continued negative publicity coming from the homosexualist lobby could damage the church's missionary work in converting new members to the faith.

Since the fruits are so stoked at their victory I’d like to ask them to do something for me. Please step up their Chick Fil A boycott. Was way after lunch hour today and I couldn’t even get near the place as it was so crowded. Drive through traffic was wrapped around the building.

The nightmare is BSA’s endorsement of open homosexuality within the organization. It’s become the Bitch Scouts of America.

Yep...all my best pals were Scouts...we took it very seriously. Our troop Soutmaster and assistant Scoutmaster were old Navy Seabees. Our troop was a para-military outfit and we could march do drills and had unifor inspections at every meeting.
I was selected to be one of the 5 recruit petty officers when I was in Navy boot camp. After graduation I asked the Chief Boatswain’s Mate, company commander how he chose the recruit petty officers and he told me, “easy, I just go through the company records and pick former Boy Scouts. It always works” he said.
Not so sure that will continue.
Truth is, nobody is happy about this decision. They decided to split the baby and everyone is pissed. The fag progressives want their scout leaders to be able to molest kids. So far, only gay kids allowed as the camel sticks its nose under the tent.
I saw this coming from a mile away. My kids go to Royal Rangers at our Church. Hopefully, more people will join our ranks as an alternative to the queerness of BS.
Amen, brother. I’ve been away from ECUSA/TEC for nearly 10 years now. I still check in with Brother David Virtue on at least a weekly basis. Was a member of the LC-MS for several years and liked it very much, but then a move came along. So now I am visiting a local SBC church.
My thoughts exactly. It wasn't to get gays in the Scouts. It was to eliminate the Scouts.

Lots of Catholics on here are angry with the Church for not taking some kind of disciplinary action against the proaborts like Kennedy, Pelosi, et. al. Nothing happens. That doofus Biden was even an honored guest at the installation of Pope Francis. Just stating something called the National Catholic Committee is in accord with this new policy merely proves my point about Catholics.

Sorry but I hardly think that is the case. The Mormons have been the subject of slings and arrows since the days of Joseph Smith. Good grief just read the posts of the anti-Mormon cabal here on the Freep. I do not see them backing down if the BSA violates one of their primary moral teachings. The Catholics, yes, and I am deeply saddened to say that but it's true. The Mormons, I don't think so.
