Blind opposition to every single action of an administration simply because of who the President is ends up looking pretty stupid after a while. Polly wanna cracker?

Do a search for the Agenda 21 land use map of the lower 48. Most of what’s TVAland now will be limited or restricted use or ‘wild’ land. No human populations allowed.

The first serious proposal to privatize TVA was made in 1964--by Republican candidate Barry Goldwater. Liberal weenies and demagogues trashed him for it. Funny how liberals' chickenzz... coming home... to roost.

Ignorance appears to be contagious around here anymore.
To: Kaslin
Not gonna happen. FTA:
But in his new budget, President Obama ordered a strategic review of the TVA with an eye toward selling it to private interests.
Key words to note here: "in his new budget." How many votes have his previous budget proposals gotten in Congress? The same number of votes this budget is going to get. Nada. TVA is not going to be sold out just yet. Not without Congress' say-so.

Theres something surreal about people on a supposedly conservative board opposing privatization of a government agency. If it was a straightforward sale I think there would be a lot of agreement with it. But this is Obastard, nothing is ever straightforward with this regime. After being burned a few times by deals "conservatives should like," most are wary, and that's what you are seeing on this thread.
Remember the story Reagan liked to tell about the little optimist boy digging through a pile of manure looking for a pony? It's like that in reverse. The pony looks good, but the cynic in me knows there's manure in it somewhere.

Bill Buckley was a huge supporter of the Government selling the TVA-he believed the Gov had no right to be generating electricity in competition with the private sector.
Obummer might be correct in this but for all the wrong reasons.

My idea exactly, but I wasn’t clear about their market focus from his post. I don’t follow the TVA and suspected they’d outgrown their original mandate that I learned in HS history class.
