The only answer I am seeking is if the FBI agent is ok.
Weirdly enough, I agree with the WP.
Was Todashev’s killing a “clean-up?” Probably not, but if it was, how the scene have played out any differently?
I see this as a ‘get in line’ interest. Yes, I guess we should find out what happened but this is rather far down on my list of interests behind Benghazi, the IRS, State Dept, DOJ, etc., etc., etc. Has the WaPo advocated so strongly for any of those investigations?
My gut reaction to this incident is that this guy must have had some information that would have put Obama or Eric Holder in a bad light.
I used to respect the FBI, but nowadays they appear to be the Gestapo arm of the Obama Administration.
It seems there were two Massachusetts State Troopers in on this interrogation, along with the FBI. They were interested in the 2011 killings, not the Marathon bombings. The Staties knew all law enforcement knew about the 2011 case. They must have used their knowledge to trap Todashev into confirming that the Tsarnaevs were responsible, and he was a participant.
Assuming we can believe the FBI, what likely happened is, the Staties were successful in worming out of Todashev information that he participated in the 2011 massacre. So, they drew up a statement for Todashev to sign.
But then Todashev, who'd figured he'd be on his way home as soon as he brushed of the feds, realized he'd just confessed to a crime that could put him away for keeps. And all because the FBI had found a phone call to him a month before the Marathon on Speed Bump's cell phone! Life in American jail! And not even for the jihadi bombings! How very depressing! Thus, when he found himself briefly alone with the FBI agent, he decided to suicide-kill his tormentor. But, fortunately, his well-trained reflexes were not quite up to the task.
The guy knew the FBI was going to shoot him and they shot him!
He probably had a cell phone in his hand. The police are now told that a cell phone is an assault weapon.
