Father 'puts his six-week-old daughter in freezer for an HOUR to stop her crying'

In a shocking case of child neglect, a Washington man appeared in court in Tacoma on Tuesday accused of putting his six-week-old daughter in a freezer to stop her crying and then falling asleep.

Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist told the court that Deutsch fell asleep after putting the child in the freezer on Saturday, then awoke after an hour and was removing the baby when the horrified child’s 22-year-old mother returned.

He’s accused of taking the phone away when the mother tried to call for help from their trailer in Roy, Washington. The mother took the child and got neighbors to call police.

Prosecutors say the child’s core temperature fell to 84 degrees in the 10-degree freezer. She also had a broken arm, a broken leg, blisters on her feet and a head injury.

Probably a west coast low-information Obama supporter. What else would you expect?

> Pre 1970s America was not stingy in giving babies drugs and alcohol to quiet them, I can’t remember the name of the drug that was popular for babies.

Paregoric I believe.

They were talking about this on local radio the other day and I couldn’t believe it - made me sick. It is totally disgusting. Mark Linquist is a very good prosecutor and I am fairly sure he’ll see this animal gets whats coming to him.

The other day they said they had stabilized the baby but, at least at that point, they weren’t sure if there would be any permanent damage of any kind. Prayers up for the little angel.

Paregoric, or camphorated tincture of opium, also known as tinctura opii camphorata, is a medication known for its antidiarrheal, antitussive, and analgesic properties.

Our family doctor prescribed paregoric when I was maybe 9 or 10 — I used to get bad tummy upsets, esp. when I was nervous about something, and it calmed me right down. Later on, when I found out what was in it, I realized why it was so effective. And they gave it to infants? yikes!

As to the story, this disgusting creep needs to be put away for a long, cold, scary time. And “mom” needs some serious follow-up too.

My first born would only calm down by being in some sort of motion. A ride in the car worked wonders but I often had him in my arms while I ran the riding mower or set him on the washer or dryer as we did laundry. We called his baby swing the, “neglect-o-matic” as it gave us some down time.
I too thank heaven for giving me our kids well into our thirties as we were much calmer parents than the twenty-somethings we knew.

It no longer is available in the U.S. because of regulations about the use of unapproved drugs.

Not true, it's just not OTC anymore. You must have a prescription.

To good for him.... Break his arm and leg, stick him in a freezer and lock him in and leave him there.

I’m going to ask my mother whether I was ever given paregoric. It just goes to show that God-given remedies - if used in moderation and with a degree of common sense - should be available to the public.

Kids swings are wonderful!

What worked with us, too, was the baby backpack sling thingie. I could ‘wear’ the baby while I did low key housework like vacuum (they loved that!), folded laundry or just puttered. Within 15 or 20m they’d be sound asleep. Then I’d sneak into my computer chair and quietly surf in...QUIET!

If we had a Department of Justice leading the country legal systems rather than a department of corrupt PC idiots, this guy would know what he was doing was wrong. But torturing a child isn’t on the PC lists of ‘rights and wrongs’. So how would the monster know?

Before liberals started turning our country into a third world hellhole a crime against an innocent baby would be an outrage. Not today. In liberal land twisting the heads of living babies doesn't even make the news.

Our "Department of Justice' sets the agenda for the legal system and the country - and monsters who torture children are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down on their list.

Tops on that list?

1. Journalists who don't kiss Obama's butt.

2. Citizens who use words like "Constitution".

3 Tea Party members

156. Monsters who torture children.

Hellholes never have 'justice'.

I wonder if the father can be stuffed into a freezer. I think a 22 cu ft model should be sufficient. Stuff him in, wrap a chain around the door, and drop the freezer off in the desert for a few days.

The only thing we ever did to our kids to get them to shut up was hold them, check their diapers, feed them, hold them, bounce on the bouncy ball, try feeding them again (WHY won’t they stop crying!!!???)

My eldest daughter never did this. She cried if something was wrong, you fixed it, she stopped crying. My youngest daughter, however, never stopped crying. She was never happy. Hubby and I would take turns walking around the house with her. If you stopped, she just started crying again. My parents came to visit and they were shocked at how we had to keep walking her around the living room.

She is now in Japan teaching English. Very intelligent girl with a keen sense of humor. So, I guess it was worth it; but, your description sent me down memory lane.
