Polygamy is evil and abusive - ALWAYS.
Check out some polygamy stories - Wife no 19, the TV show (available online) called “polygamy what love is this” by Doris Hanson, Shield and Refuge ministry, helpthechildbrides.com; the book “Under the Banner of Heaven” for starters.
My husband and I are really involved in helping those leave polygamy (esp LDS polygamy), rescue and providing pro-bono legal counsel.
That said, we have at least one polygamist Freeper that I know of.
Remember the polygamy scandal in that walled compound in, I believe it was Arizona? Young boys were driven out of the compound so that the old leachers could have all the young women to themselves. The cult leader finally went to jail. This compound was self supporting, I think they were farming and making food products. Since this was basically slave labor, they could have passed their labor cost savings onto the purchasers, which makes me wonder if those businesses that purchased products from them knew that there was slave labor going on and I wonder if the purchasers were also Mormon?
