TEXAS CITY, Texas – One man is dead after he was shot by a homeowner in an apparent robbery early Sunday morning in Texas City, police said.
According to the Texas City Police Department, dispatch received two 911 calls of multiple shots fired just before 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of First Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the homeowner Enrique Herrera, 60, with a gunshot wound to his upper right thigh.
A second man, Lekenvrick Deon Nelson, 26, of La Marque, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the chest across the street from Herrera’s residence.
“All we heard is a couple gunshots, about five or six bullets,” Jimmy Benavides, a neighbor, said.
Benavides said he does not blame Herrera for fighting back.
“If he didn’t have a gun on him he’d be dead right now most likely,” Benavides said. “Oh yes, anybody threatens my kids or my family, I’m gonna shoot ‘em point blank.”
Jermaine White, 24, who is said to be a suspect in connection with the robbery, was located and detained a few blocks away, police said. He has been charged with aggravated robbery with a $100,000 bond.

Anyway, It starts with the 'Le' sound which for some reason is very popular in some circles.
You do not need a CHL in Texas if you are on your own property or vehicle...

More GUN VIOLENCE. Until we start take guns off the street more innocent people, like this poor man, will be NEEDLESSLY KILLED. We’ll never know his story, what drove him to a life of crime. Was it the way society looked at him (I’m assuming he’s black)? Was it the defacto-slavery that we all know goes on, but we deny it? Was it just pure racial HATRED in the homeowner?
(slight exaggeration, but pretty close to how liberals see it - why Republicans would join these gun-grabbers simply baffles me)
