(Newser) The Boy Scouts of America's decision last month to allow gay members was made with the blessings of many churches and religious groupsbut not all of them. And here's a pretty significant opponent: The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America with 45,000 congregations and 16 million members, says it will now urge its followers to leave the Scouts, reports CNN. The Boy Scouts says Baptist churches currently sponsor nearly 4,000 units, containing more than 100,000 kids.
The Southern Baptist Convention will vote on a resolution to disaffiliate with the Scouts this month, and a spokesperson says he expects 99% of people to vote in support of it. "Southern Baptists are going to be leaving the Boy Scouts en masse," he says.

” the homosexuals have literally destroyed a great American icon. “
The BSA committed suicide. It will be insolvent inside a year.
And that’s what they want. They don’t want “recognition” or “acceptance.” They want to destroy traditional American, Christian institutions. They are ruled by hate.
A FRiend posted a chart on this website detailing how the queers pulled this off.
The queers basically used their high-powered lawyers to pressure donor organizations like AT&T, Verizon and UPS from donating/supporting the BSA. That kind of financial pressure ultimately had an impact on the BSA hierarchy, but they basically destroyed the organization with this absurd decision to support the homosexual agenda.
Good for the Southern Baptists. There are other groups like AWANA or Brigades which fulfill the same purpose and won’t morally compromise.
I doubt it. The Girl Scouts survived although weaker for it.
Encourage your friends to do the same.
They lack good sense and react with sanctimonious zeal like jihadists
the girl scouts died. They are nothing more than a shill for bad sawdust flavored cookies.
Didn’t the Girl Scouts recently support some kind of abortion group like Planned Parenthood?
Baptist’s have a competing organization in place and they should move to expand AWANA STAT.
AwanaStarted in Chicago in 1950, this coed, non-denominational, Christian evangelical ministry has as its goal a “global effort to ensure the opportunity for children and youth to be evangelized and discipled in Christ.” It claims Awana groups in 12 000 US churches and 8000 churches in 110 other countries. Awana is an acronym from the first letters of each word in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed”. Program levels include Puggles (ages 2-3), Cubbies (preschool), Sparks (grades K-2), Truth & Training (T&T, grades 3-6), Trek (middle school), Journey (high school
Here is the problem that I have with the AWANAs - great program but it’s focus is not on survival skills. The BSA did have that focus very much and I am struggling to find an organization that provides similar skills training.
The AWANAs programs that I have seen locally seem to never go camping, fishing, hunting etc. It’s all about Sunday school and it seems to be targeted to younger kids.
The more they offer, the heavier the collection plates
Thank you for sharing.
LOL. I never met anyone who knew about AWANA.
I was in AWANA for two years.
Even got into a fight over the prettiest girl in church with the pastors son.
My son was in Royal Rangers for many years great program!
Unfortunate in one regard. But this is an opportunity to rebuild the organization after it completely collapses, so it could be a blessing in disguise.
They've had leftist board members and officials for a while. This purge may be the healthiest thing to happen in the American Boy Scout's history.
It wasn't the Baptists who left the Scouts ... it was the Scouts who left Christian standards of morals, ethics and decency!
The BSA has been under attack by the homo groups for years, and still survived, in spite of the attacks. Giving in sealed their. fate. I suspect that Christian churches will form their own org eventually. My church formed its own, on a small scale.
Every Christian family I’ve talked to are making plans to exit the BSA.
Some are “ this close to Eagle and are going to stick it out until they’re done. I guess they have 6 mo before this policy goes into effect?
