Axelrod, Plouffe: IRS scandal way too “stupid” to be political
Hot Air ^ | 06-03-2013 | Ed Morrissey

Edited on 06/03/2013 1:12:32 PM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

This is no impromptu strategy for Barack Obama’s campaign wizard, David Axelrod, trotted out under fire on NBC’s Meet the Press yesterday. Another Obama insider, David Plouffe, was sent to ABC’s This Week to make the same argument. Axelrod and Plouffe both tried to brush off the IRS scandal as an unfortunate set of coincidences by arguing that a deliberate effort to punish conservatives through the IRS would be “the stupidest thing you could have imagined” (Axelrod) or “the dumbest political effort of all time.”

Over the weekend Kirsten Powers was very dismissive of the idea that the Tea Party would draw so much attention. She was on Bill O’Blovator’s show and Ted Baxter wasn't sharp enough to correct her and say that more than just the Tea Parties were targeted.

An astute freeper said the other day that Axelrod and Plouffe were behind it, and their comments clinch it for me.

Axelrod and Plouffe... Two more paid liars.

Plenty of corrupt brazen politicians and their campaign staffs have done stupid things to remain in power. Nixon didnt need Watergate to utterly destroy McGovern back in ‘72.
