If conservatives were half the monsters the left paints us as, they wouldn’t exist.

You singlehandedly “warned” everyone, eh, 1010RD ? As far as I can tell, you’re more than a little late to the party, pal. What the rest of us are telling you about, which seems to be either disinteresting to you or flies over your head, is that the corruption has deep roots in the IL GOP. And you’re making pointless strawman arguments about ideology and pandering to the left in order for the “IL GOP” to “win.” It’s the CORRUPTION, stupid !

Face facts: the IL GOP walks hand in hand with most of the IL Democrats (I’m sure there are a few non-Combiner Democrats, but these are desultory, nothing on par with the threat ex-Gov. Dan Walker posed. Most, like Quinn, get assimilated once in power).

IL did get as close to a savior for the anti-Combiner GOP Reformists as imaginable in Pete Fitzgerald. He broke through the wall. But it wasn’t the IL Democrats that worked to undermine him for not being a part of the Combine... it was IL Republicans. Ray “LaThug” being the lead kneecapper (and Speaker Hastert was fine and dandy with that, for that matter).

In almost any other state, a clean government pol like Fitzgerald would be a Godsend. In IL, he was a threat to the unholy Combine and had to be destroyed at all costs. That paved the way for Zero all the way to the White House (with his good buddy LaThug being rewarded with a Cabinet post — the stench of payback corruption could be smelled all the way from Pluto).

1010RD, as soon as folks like you start showing some interest in purging the mass-scale corruption and collusion within the IL Republican wing of the Combine, the rest just isn’t going to matter.

Some of Nixon's boys tried the same tricks Obama's team's trying now. It didn't work for Nixon and it's not going to work for Obama. Too many people know too much... and they're starting to talk.

Woodard was on O’Reilly last night... Bill was under the impression Watergate had the backing of the press at the time - it didn't. It took years to get ‘all the President’ Men’ ... but it happened. It's going to happen again. Woodward and Bernstein stayed with the story against unrelenting criticism and scorn... and Woodwards staring to look at this mess... just starting, but you can feel his intellect moving and searching - prodding...

Nixon's boys were just as confident and contemptuous as Obama’s are... and it's gonna end the same.

I Googled Bastiat. He seems to have a timeless philosophy. I liked this one:

“They will come to learn in the end, at their own expense, that it is better to endure competition for rich customers than to be invested with monopoly over impoverished customers.”

Abuse of office, is there no law?

I'm not aware of such a law. And doubt there is one.

The charge has been employed in impeachment proceedings -- as among "high crimes and misdemeanors" -- but I suspect it is a judgmental crime rather than a statutory one.

I could be wrong...

Durbin had to be in on it.

Don’t forget that he was one of the senators who signed a letter demanding that the IRS go after TEA Party organizations.

See if you can find his The Law. It’s outstanding and something every HS student in America should have to read and understand. It would save us a lot of trouble.

In politics losers don’t get to play. I’m interested in winning. Listening to you guys reminds me of the Chinese proverb:

“The person who says it cannot be done shouldn’t get in the way of the person doing it.”

I’m doing it, not posting about it from political fantasyland.

I’m not interested in debating it.

Winning what exactly ? Pray tell, what have you won ? You think Kirk is a "win" ? It's a victory for the corrupt Combine who set up that false set of choices between him and the "Democrat." The people lost, at least those who care about corruption and ridding the state of it.

For someone who brags how they were warning folks about Zero, how is it you seem to have no problem willfully ignoring the two-ton elephant in the room and pretending this game isn't rigged ? You don't want to discuss it, don't want to debate it ? Then why the hell are you on this website ? You want folks to compliment and applaud you on your brave naivete and cognitive dissonance ? I submit you're the one living in political fantasyland, sir. You need to wake up.
