Unfortunately, Joe Bastardi said the hurricanes would likely start in June this year and the Gulf would be where they start. He was, and is, usually right. He said the water in the Gulf is warm enough already to cause them. His words were, “If there are some in June they will start in the Gulf.” Then he said the water is warm enough there now.
I can remember when nearly every tropical storm system would originate near the coast of Africa and travel all the way across the Atlantic before hitting us. How things have changed.
