Microstamping Guns in California and Signing on with UN Arms Trade Treaty

Many of us knew this would happen. Our government has realized that fighting the 2nd Amendment directly is likely a losing proposition. Because of that, they have decided that doing whatever they can to make it hard to impossible to obtain weapons and ammo is the next best thing. After all, if ammo is next to impossible to purchase, what good is a gun? By the same token, if parts of the government keep adding more restrictions to gun manufacturers, that also makes it difficult to obtain guns. In all of this, the 2nd Amendment is technically, left alone.

California is the only state I know of that has what is called the “DOJ Approved Handgun” list. Only guns on that list can be legally purchased.

How does a gun not make the list? Several ways, but one of the easiest ways for a gun to not make the list is to fail the “drop test.” This is where the gun manufacturers send a bunch of free guns (of the same model) to the “rocket scientists” in California. These “scientists” load the gun with live ammo and then drop the gun on the ground. They do this until they either get tired or the gun accidentally fires a round. If it goes off, scratch it. It doesn’t make the list of approved handguns. In many cases, it’s just easier for the manufacturers to give up and not deal with it.

Essentially, any new gun models manufactured after May 17th must have microstamping in order to be sold by dealers in California to legal residents. This stems from a law that was passed in 2007 – AB1471 and takes effect now that the microstamping technology is “available to more than one manufacturer unencumbered by any patent restrictions.”

The government has no shame at all. They seem willing to do anything at all to restrict the rights of law abiding citizens. They act first and deal with repercussions later. It shouldn’t be happening. It is because few in Congress and throughout the federal government abide by the rule of law created by the Constitution

By that I mean finding the perp, not the poor sap the gun was stolen from.

It appears that the politicians have finally found a way around the VOTER REJECTION of Proposition 15 in 1982.

For those who don’t remember, Prop 15 was a proposed law to BAN HANDGUNS in California.

The VOTERS overwhelmingly rejected it by a 2 to 1 margin.

Since that day, politicians have been working overtime nibbling away it it one little step at a time.

My thoughts is that when VOTERS REJECTED IT, it meant all handguns, ammo, magazines, were protected in Kali.

It appears I was wrong.

I was astounded when I visited San Diego last month. I travelled and visited seven (7) gun stores/ranges in a day. I was really suprised by how small the stores were, and the lack of inventory and accessories (not discounting the current buying fever/hoarding)....they were just sub-par gun stores to me being from Arkansas where we don't put up with the bureaucratic BS in CA.

Of the 5 owners/managers I talked to, they all planned on closing up shop and moving out of state when they get a chance. Most of them mentioned AZ or NV. They told me that the cost of doing business is hard on a family owned business, and even harder when you are in the gun business.

Rush is right. CA was lost in 1986 with amnesty. Solid conservative until then, If we do a nationwide amnesty, USA is lost and we'll have Liberals and RINOs until the death of the nation the same way the Barbarians overthrew Rome....from within.

We had better do something fast folks, for I would predict that in another ten years, because of the public indoctrination centers called schools, the votes will be there to amend the Second.
