BET has announced they will be airing a special entitled Justice for Trayvon: Our Son is Your Son on June 7. The half-hour special will feature exclusive interviews with key players of the trial, journalists and celebrity supporters, according to the Wall Street Journal. News journalist Emmett Miller will be hosting.
Last years death of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin sparked controversy over racial profiling and violence. Although he was unarmed, he was shot and killed by 28 year-old George Zimmerman, who was a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer according to CNN.
The official BET website reported Zimmerman was not a member of a registered neighborhood watch group, according to ABC News. He also violated basic neighborhood watch guidelines by carrying a weapon. Zimmerman claimed self-defense after shooting and killing Martin. Now, over a year later, the trial involving Zimmerman and Martin is still going on. Zimmerman is being accused of second-degree murder.
In addition to the racial profiling issue, this murder has also brought the Stand Your Ground laws to attention. Actor Jamie Foxx has voiced his concern over these laws to BET in an interview, stating, I think that rule or that law needs to be addressed
Thats a slippery slope for people to have that type of power. Justice for Trayvon will report the latest developments as well as all evidence involving the trial up to this point through engaging interviews with the attorneys, analysts and supporters, reports Indiewire.
That's the nicest thing I can say about what is happening to the blind rage peeps being set up as cannon fodder.
“Although he was unarmed, he was shot and killed by 28 year-old George Zimmerman, who was a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer according to CNN”
He had arms and was using both of them to try to beat someone to death according to witnesses and physical evidence.
Black Entertainment Television is at it now ...
no
It’s this kind of thing that keeps me tuned in to White Entertainment Television.
I wonder if Univision will air something.
This is just a Black Ku Klux Klan Lynching of George Zimmerman
The BKKKs would riot if there was a WET (White Entertainment Television) that supported Zimmerman
And somewhere along the line recall in obama’s first campaign where all this racial hatred would just disappear if he was elected.
I can tell you one thing...if Trayvon was my son...he would not be dead..
dittos!
The take away is that urban blacks have a right to act out any time they feel disrespected or feel the urge to address the legacy of slavery. Whites on the other hand have forfeited their privilege to bear arms or to defend themselves when a member of a protected class feels the need to redress past discrimination. For whites defending yourself is no excuse if they want your property, wife,or life, you have the duty and obligation to surrender immediately any other reaction defies justus.
I think there is a split here. Urban blacks in metropolitan cities...especially males...are mostly dying young, ending up in prison or jail by age twenty-five, or spending what money they save on some good drugs.
Rural or heartland blacks? They make it in society, get ahead, and probably question the character of Trayvon to some degree.
Trayvon already got his justice.
Just what I was thinking. Now let’s move on to Justice for Zimmerman.
It would have been more helpful if the “black community” showed this much concern for the young man when he started down his path to a thug life instead of now when it’s too late. They were too busy drinking Crunk Juice and Purple Drank to concern themselves.
The people who run BET are professional racists
The are racist for money
Yeah, but what about hispanics with germanic names? ...anyway, this is yet another example of libtard logic, where they focus on false injustice with outrage and blithely ignore substantive problems that are literally destroying their own race in this country which offers so many great opportunities - not found in Kenya.
