Oh sure, could be a convert, or even a muzzie family. Given official reluctance to name names, it’s getting more likely all the time.
But sometimes names are just names. Zahawri is Arabic, but not exclusively Muslim. Names like Samir could be rooted in Arabic or could be from India. Seems to be Lebanese Christians in the neighborhood.
Make that “demonization”.
Thought those things were banned in the People`s Republik of Kalifornia?
Because who he is doesn’t fit the correct narrative.

If the killer had been a conservative the 'assault rifle' part would be second - and the 'right wing' crazy would have been front and center. Everyone's looking for some proof that what they IRS did to conservatives was 'deserved'. Scary times.

When we lived in Santa Monica we had Lebanese and Egyptian friends. I rather liked the “melting pot” aspect of life there, though now I won’t go near the place. Kids graduated from Santa Monica HS...(Samohi), at the time ranked among the ten top public high schools in the US. Now, I don’t know.
So we wait until the media tells us who the shooter is. And his “motive.”
Oh yeah, I forgot his motive was his gun.

It would have been twelve or more but he stumbled over a rock and dropped his rifle, damaging the front sight. He they shot himself with an old single action Colt .45 revolver.
I have never read about people screaming for gun bans or registration because of that.
So, I read somewhere he had on body armor.
My guess is that he had one of these $108 black "urban assault tactical vests," worn by some shooters (and urban assault fisherman ;-) Same kind the Batman theater killer ordered from tacticalgear.com.
Guaranteed to stop nothing, including the breeze that blows through the enormous gap in the middle of the chest.
In that Colorado theater shooting, one or two decently-trained civilians (and I know plenty of them personally) armed with concealed .45s, could have disabled that shooter quickly and saved lives. In times of stress, the eyes often dilate and give you the ability to see in the dark, and also they could identify the location of the shooter by his muzzle flashes. It is SICK and DISGUSTING to see how many self-described "experts" here are falling all over themselves to try to convince people that they should roll over instead of fight back.
ANYBODY here who tells you that body armor makes the shooter impervious to concealed-carry defense of higher caliber like .45s, is LYING. You have to wonder why.
Expect his religion to be reported only if he is Christian.
